a new hire for a new show

Also can't forget that this stuff is rolled out slowly. Also sometimes their is to much of it. I can't believe movies now have like 4 trailers and people look forward to each of them. In the good old days a commercial for a movie would pop up and then you would think. "That looks interesting or that is going to suck" and that was how you learned about a new movie coming and we liked it that way. Maybe you go get a little info from reading Starlog or Entertainment Weekly and that was your insider Info. Nobody cared about agenda's back then. We were ignorant about the whole process and we were better off for it.

So what era are we hoping for with this?
My top choices would be either thousands of years before the movie, or post Rise of Skywalker. So yeah, baisically I'd want it to be either the earliest or the latest thing we've gotten so far.

I'm not sure I know the difference between something happening hundreds of years before the prequels or a thousand years before them.

I just figure the further back you go, the more different things will be.

Well a few hundred years before the prequels would be a high period for the Republic. Lots of Jedi and no known Sith Lords operating around. A time of relative peace.

A thousand or more years before the prequels would be during the time of off and on warfare between the Jedi and Sith with Sith Empires fighting the Republic in the open. WIth giant kyber based super weapons run with Sith Alchemy and the like that could do what the Death Star does but with class instead of technology.

We're already getting the more peaceful era before The Phantom Menace with The High Republic, so I'd rather go farther back during the Republic's wars with the Sith, or the Mandalorians.

I just figure the further back you go, the more different things will be.

Unless it's Star Wars in which case the technology will largely be the same and only the presence of more Jedi and a Senate chamber that looks less advanced and "modern." Star Wars has little change in technology across thousands of years of history and things remain remarkably static in that galaxy from a scientific and technical achievement perspective.

Sure, I was thinking more along the lines of the kind of conflicts we'd be seeing, like the wars with the Sith and the Mandalorians.

You know I wonder if SW would ever explore race and gender in the text and if so will this be the show. What if in the past women weren't allowed to be Jedi? Granted to me that feels very hackey so instead maybe in the past humans were seen as to primitive to be able to be real Jedi and were prone to going over to the darkside and our heroes, mostly human with several being women are trying to fight against this idea.
