Spoilers 31st/32nd Century Ships Revealed

Ah, but he or she will have it easy: with the new adaptive materials and structures, every configuration will be a correct one, on a given Tuesday anyway, and one can even color outside the lines with impunity. No chance of the fans ever having a valid gripe!

I wonder if we'll see a new Constitution style USS Enterprise in DIS Season 4 considering the shipyards book confirmed that the ship we saw in "Die Trying" was a Constitution class starship.
That would be great. As I keep posting around the webs ad nauseam, I’d love for the Enterprise destroyed during the Burn to be a Constitution-class. And then have Starfleet built a new Enterprise in season 4 for Captain Saru.

Because then we get 2 new Enterprises for the 1701 lineage!

Wonder indeed.
Enterprise A: Commissioned 2286
Enterprise B: 2293
Enterprise C: 2340's
Enterprise D: 2363
Enterprise E: 2372
Assuming no war or Catastrophe Enterprises enjoy a long service life.
Enterprise J: 2500's

So, USS Enterprise Z?

Wonder indeed.

Perhaps later ones lasted longer. Enterprise-P, for Picard. :rommie:

Because The Official Star Trek Fact Files taught us that when you run out of letters, you go with double letters.
For real, in-universe?

Another solution would either be to start over (registry numbers have been reused before), or change the prefix, e.g. NCV.

Fun side note: The furthest letter suffix we got so far (in the expanded universe) are ISS ShiKahr NC-1021-R and USS Poseidon NCC-8472-U as of 2409-2411.

I wish they would have done that from the start instead of still using NCC numbers with six digits.

Anyway, there's a neo-Constitution class U.S.S. Excalibur NCC-1664-M. Since the TOS Excalibur and the TOS Enterprise were contemporaries (along with the Tikhov apparently, in which the 32nd century version also has an M suffix), I would think that any Enterprise existing before or after the Burn would be NCC-1701-M as well, or thereabouts. I personally would like to see a new 32nd century design besides the ones we've already seen as a new post-Burn Enterprise. The pre-Burn Enterprise-L can be a neo-Connie, though :)

Is there an E-J in the current Prime universe?
Maybe.
Before the Expanse was wiped out by Archer in 2154, Daniels seemed keen that the E-J was a critical part of his history. He exists afterwards, so the E-J likely came about, too.
Going non-canon, in STO, the E-J exists and the Battle of Procyon V occurs when the Sphere Builders try to push into galactic space again. The only visual difference between the "two" E-J's is that the first one was labelled "NCC-1701" on the bow, while the new one is labelled "NCC-1701-J" on either side of the saucer's central bulge.

Actually it would be Enterprise-P or Q... or a letter or two before that (if Starfleet decided to wait in between generations).

But my thinking is instead that Saru could get USS Voyager - J for his command.

That, or Robert Picardo cameo.
