I didn't bother to watch the 24 series finale. Did I miss anything? Was there a killer plot twist that made slogging through it all worthwhile?

Since they had to set up the movie, they couldn't do anything too drastic. It was pretty much a normal 24 season finale.

In the end, Jack must face off against the baddies... guess who comes out on top?

By and large, Temis, it's not an episode very different from any other. Beyond one or two things, there really wasn't anything new or twist-y done.

It was possibly the lamest season finale they've ever done, nothing really happened, so the fact that it was the series finale was doubly damning!

If you watched the rest of the series to have a good idea of what it's about, you should definitely watch the series finale. It was a good finale. The writers didn't pull a TATV or anything like that, thankfully.

It's essentially identical to an earlier season finale, with different players.

Just sayin'. ;)

You want me to wade thru all that crap? :D That's why I started my own thread. I wanted to know if, say, Jack and Chloe do the dirty on the still-warm corpse of Pres. Logan or something similarly unpredictable.

I got the scoop: business as usual, don't bother with the finale. Thanks everyone for helping me not waste two hours of my life.

You see, though, that's the point of a discussion board. How many times have people started a duplicate thread on a topic being discussed and had that thread closed because it's a duplicate?

Really?

No, Really?

Sigh. You obviously have a problem with, else you wouldn't so often see it fit to insult me or take your digs at me whenever you can. Fine. Whatever. As long as you feel big, mighty and proud.

What I'm saying is that there's a thread already open discussing 24's finale. "I didn't want to read it" isn't an excuse to open a duplicate thread to get your answers. Anywhere else on the board such a thread would be shut down, merged and likely with a notation as "Already being discused, I'll close this one/merge the two."

So, yes, really.

I actually would recommend watching the finale. The ending is left open-ended as you would expect with a movie coming, but I actually found the stuff going on with the Presidents and the treaty signing to be very interesting, which I didn't expect.

The point of a discussion board is to do a lot of unnecessary work? I get paid to do unnecessary work! Here, I expect things to be easy for me. :rommie:

Go ahead and close this if ya like. I got what I wanted from it, and all that's left is pointless bickering.

Which come to think of it, is the point of a discussion board.

The last 3 hours were very, very good. They put an awesome end cap on the series and a pretty mediocre season IMHO.

Definitely check it out.

I thought the last ten hours were terrific (for 24 so late in life), which still doesn't make up for the first fourteen this year, but they're worth watching if you've muddled through the first seven seasons and aren't completely bored with the formula.

I'd say I'm completely bored with the formula. If it's just Jack kicking a lot of ass, eh. I'd need some totally out of left field plot twist or two to motivate myself to bother figuring out how to get my hands on it at this point.

It streams at www.fox.com/24, so the figuring out how to find it part shouldn't be much of an issue.

But I wouldn't waste my time if I were you. It doesn't seem like you're that interested to bother. Just wait for the movie and I'm sure all the important plot points will be addressed.
