Does Trump think he can win a nuclear war?

The question is not whether the Americans can win a nuclear war with North Korea; short answer they can and I doubt the NKs can even hit Guam much less launch an ICBM with a nuclear warhead. No, the real issue is how messy it will become once the NKs snap. First of all most of Seoul is going to...

More Cast and Characters added to Discovery!

Casting Michelle Yeoh as the captain is an inspired choice. Putting it out there but I think she will be the female equivalent of Captain Picard. I say this based on the roles Yeoh has taken on and her acting style. First of all this lady can ACT! She has played characters who project a...

Contest: ENTER DS9 CapCon 142: Two by Two, Hands of Blue

That's for saying Bolians are lousy hairdressers. The Star Trek rules of death: Black guy always dies first. Blue guy dies first. White guy dies last. Redshirts... All bets are off. Bolian ambassador: So my good doctor you think you understand about diplomacy? You and that genetically...

    The First Trailer

The trailer looks great. Finally the Enterprise crew are up against something which ain't the Earth-is-threatened plot. I think the music, in the trailer, is horribly misplaced but the film does seem to have more of that 2009 feel- more fun to it.

    July 8, 2016...

Dude relax. I'm seeing the Trek movie regardless of the omens, regardless of the trend in declining quality. I watch it warts and all. It would be magical if ST3 was one of those greats, it draws one in, or even just a workhorse of good engaging content. But the portents don't look good!

    July 8, 2016...

Star Trek Fast and Furious here we come! At this point my expectations are so low I'm probably going to enjoy ST3 when it comes out- trainwreck or not. Anyway just let the franchise rest in peace, it's had its moments, it peaked with DS9 and the legacy of the whole thing is assured. Barring a...

Acclaim or popularity - which do you prefer?

Neither. I'm thinking legacy, and of all of the offshoots of the original Star Trek I think DS9 is the one most deserving to be remembered and to have a long-lasting legacy. DS9 was Star Trek's zenith: it had the wacky sci-fi, the comedy, the politics, the morality and some great stories...

Roberto Orci Not Directing Trek XIII

I'm getting an Alien 3 development hell vibe here and that movie (the assembly cut) was an underrated classic. Through turmoil I think the final product could be something different and intriguing, or laughably bad and I get some good laughs over two hours. Whatever happens it's going to be...

    Who should now direct ST3?

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Why not? I would love to see the mess he would make of Star Trek, it would be comedy! Anyway, I'm thinking of a wildcard director, I'm thinking David Fincher or maybe even Peter Jackson. PJ is the king of grandiose and epicness in movies.

Captain's log. I have relieved Counsellor Troi of her duties and transferred her to a transport ship. Data: My tricorder has more processing power than yours lieutenant. Worf: I disagree, my tricorder has both more processing power and memory capacity! Data: I beg to differ- Riker: Will you...

A better question: What crazy action scene do you want to see in 3?

Re: A better question: What crazy action scene do you want to see in 3 I want a scene with the Enterprise caught in a minefield and then this enemy ship arrives to capture the Enterprise. Now to kill all of the Enterprise's crew, the enemies send in shapeshifting cyborgs made of metametal, like...

Was Trek ever really intelligent sci-fi?

I can't say much for TOS as I've only seen a few episodes but having watched TNG and DS9 several times I can think of a few episodes worthy of intelligent sci-fi: TNG: A Measure of a Man, Q Who, Who Watches the Watchers, Sins of the Father, Yesterday's Enterprise, Sarek, Family, Brothers, The...

    Implications of The Assignment

I see three other possibilities: 1. The Prophets had witnessed a future and thus the plan to destroy them but they knew it would fail, so they remained in the Celestial Temple. 2. The Prophets -- having seen this future -- decided to leave the Celestial Temple. Or maybe leave one part of it...
