Dude relax. I'm seeing the Trek movie regardless of the omens, regardless of the trend in declining quality. I watch it warts and all.
It would be magical if ST3 was one of those greats, it draws one in, or even just a workhorse of good engaging content. But the portents don't look good!
No. We're still enjoying it, which is the only purpose it's ever served.

From the list I saw, the Tarzan movie comes out the week prior.
They didn't even promo John Carter that way. They just did silhouettes of the Sarks and figured that everyone would be in on the movie about 4 armed aliens against a red backgroud...YMMV on how well that worked out.
So, Tarzan will likely just be a man sitting in a tree in silhouette, but at least the name is recognizable

Who is Lindsay B, and why should I give her unsupported statement any credence?
It would be a little tighter than the original production schedule for the 2009 movie (filming began in November 2007 for a planned December 2008 release) but still doable.
