Favorite Names? (Male/Female)

Men: Christopher, Mark, Tobias, Klaus, Horace, Horatio

Women: Elizabeth, Abigail, Constance, Isabella, Joan, Anne, Katherine

^ I always wanted to be an Elizabeth; it was my godmother's name. Plus, you have all those nickname possibilities---Eliza, Elle, Ellie, Liz, Lizzie, Beth, Bette, Bess, Betsy. But, on the other hand, I've known lots of Elizabeths--some I've liked and some not, so I'm not sure I could still call it a favorite. I've always hated the name I was given, but at least now, it's more well known.

Male: John, Ubiquitous (Ubi) and T'rone (Testosterone)

Female: Victoria Lynn, Placenta and Halrloprillalar ('Ro)...I know, I know...

For boys I like Arthur and Robin (I think if I ever have a kid I'd name him Robin, after my brother).

For a girl I like Ruby. I think it sounds confident and strong, but still feminine.

Plenty of names I like, from all over the world.

But keeping with Italian names, I'll say:

for boys Michele, Gabriele, Luca, Marco, and of course Dario;

for girls Aurora, Beatrice, Sofia, Giada, and Emilia. ;)

I go back and forth on these these things. Only two that are locked in for if I ever have kids are Liam for a boy and Sofia for a girl. First one I just plain like and second one is a nice name as well as a family name.

^^^I wanted to name my youngest son, Liam Thomas, after my grandfather Thomas William but my husband didn't like the names. My son ended up being called Marcus James.

Girl: Portia
She is the heroine of William Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice." I find the name to be quite lovely.

Boy: Paul
No particular reason - just to keep with the "Names Starting with the Letter 'P' Theme."

Male: John, Ubiquitous (Ubi) and T'rone (Testosterone)

Female: Victoria Lynn, Placenta and Halrloprillalar ('Ro)...I know, I know...
You wouldn't happen to be in the music or movie business, would you? :)

It is indeed. The One Who Brings Light (lux = light ; ferre = to bring, to carry, but interestingly also: to endure).
LOL never thought that my 7 years of Latin would pay off one day :D

Boys: Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Porky, Stymie, Farina, Butch, Woim, Waldo, Froggy, Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp.

Girls: Darla.

I grew up with two lasses called Shoshana and Georgina (though the latter usually went with just Gina). I liked both of those names and also Elizabeth.

For guys, Joe was a common one in the family but I'd say my favourite name would be David, Michael or Stephen.

I'd probably include family names for any kids down the road though.
