The huge Colossal Squid found in 2007 may not be the largest of its kind. And, it turned out to be a female, capable of laying thousands of eggs. So, there may be larger creatures out there in the Earth's southern seas.

)if I interpret you correctly, you assume that male squids are larger than females? I'm no expert on cephalopods but in most non-mammal species the female is taller. I'd have assumed that to be the case with squids, too.
