Why didn't the crew start calling Seven 'Annika'?

It could be a different version (ie. one where different scenes were chopped out for commercials)... but I am reasonably sure that in The Trouble With Tribbles, Kirk went into the elevator wearing one shirt, wore a different one while he was in the elevator, and exited wearing his original shirt. If I can find the episode somewhere online, I'll check for myself.

Not even Jeri Ryan could get me to like the mess that is nuTrek.

I was watching a "Tribbles" with the new effects, so perhaps an elevator scene was cut. I don't have my prerecorded VHS tape anymore from the 80s. I do remember a scene like that from another episode (though I'm blank on which) where there was a "quick-change" due to recycled footage.

I bought a new hard drive today.

    Busy moving everything around.

That and pulling plugs in and out of the multiadapter has cause my pc to self terminate twice so far.

    It's not really a race.

    :)

You should get Seven to help you.

It is incredible how much recreational equipment exists on the Enterprise that we never saw!

What movie referenced the bowling alley?

Oh and I'm not trying to beat anyone reading this book, I'm just reporting my progress because it amuses me that Greg can read my reading his book in real time. I wouldn't have read it so quickly if I hadn't been stuck on a train for two hours a day, I'm a very slow reader.

Kevin Riley mentions a bowling alley in TOS: The Naked Time. But he was intoxicated, and might have just been talking shit.

This makes me wonder why, if they had a bowling alley, they didn't shoot bowling balls at enemy ships. Mass is mass and momentum is momentum, and so is a hole in the ship when you get enough mass shot fast enough.

Or in the words of Mike, in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, "We throw rocks at them, Man."

I was actually a little nervous about whether CBS would let me use the swimming pool in a book, even though it's been mentioned in non-canon sources before. But nobody even raised an eyebrow.

I'm still at that point in the battle, but as soon as I read about the pool, I was thinking that one way to repel invaders is to play it the ships gravity plating... At which point the pool would just go mental and run wild across the ship.

By the way, stop Whedoning the redshits.

Making me care, just before you whack'em.

    FINISHED.

And now I have to find Yesterday's Son! To read about something mentioned that I did not know about!

Maybe I have it already, I have a bunch of older TOS books I've never read.

    OOOOOoooooo okay that's excellent.

Will this also be a crossover? Will 7 return and meet the older Kirk?

Kirk: Miss 7 I hope you don't mind my saying, you're as attractive as I remember.

    7: ...

No Seven next time. Just straight-up movie-era Kirk . . . and lots of Chekov.

Groovy. Revisiting Lenore's story would be fantastic.

If the first line is "Once upon a midnight dreary", I'll pass.
