Why didn't the crew start calling Seven 'Annika'?

I've not bought a Trek novel since the 80s, but after reading your posts here for a year, I'm thinking I should look for it at local stores when I'm out.

Realistically, Annika is suffering from some big problems mentally.

She's basically like one of those girls who gets kept captive in a house and raped for decades on end (except by the Borg, it's symbolic etc). But her first inclination upon being rescued/released from her captivity is basically to say "I am no longer Annika, that girl died a loooong time ago". She basically retains some submissive tendencies towards the Collective, even as she acknowledges the atrocity of what she's been through. There's definitely a sort of Stockholm Syndrome thing going on in there somewhere. The experience has truly fucked her up. :(

And I've got to admit, that on some level I find it... unsettling that she never truly seems to resolve that apparent conflict in her mind.

I have to visit OS relatives every day this week and I have now placed 7 does Kirk (I am ever hopeful) in my bag and I am going to be doing a lot of reading on the train. YES.

I haven't read a Cox book since the last Eugenics (which I bought in hardcover) so I'm quite excited!!!

My kindle sadly cannot compare to the PRIDE I feel reading a book with the beautiful 7 on the cover and the even more beautiful (yes I say so) James T. Kirk on the same cover. I swear this morning people were looking at me on the crowded train thinking.. I want what she's having. Yes that is how much I am enjoying your book Greg.

    I am on page 65!!!

Well, I'm half way through it.

Seven in halfmoon cookie makeup should have been on the cover.

I want to know why the book clearly says when we meet 7 she is in her blue catsuit but the books cover has her in her ugly brown catsuit?

She was on Enterprise for weeks?

Someone must be in charge of her wardrobe, because she can't wear the same "suit" day in day out for a month or two?

What sort of stasis technology are we dealing with? Is there going to be frost? Constantly freezing the woman can't be good for her everyday clothes. Special stasis costume, or nudity? Although in Archers time they were using stasis as a replacement for refrigeration.

    "Grumble".

    Because Greg's color blind?

Because if she was in the blue suit, no one would notice Kirk on the cover?

Because the cover artist didn't read the book?

OH I know Greg didn't pick out the book cover.. and in fact apparently 7 is going to change clothes! I am waiting to see what it is.

Actually, speaking of changing clothes, if this is later in the series, couldn't Kirk be in one of those green numbers?

It really was a random roll of the dice depending on how self concious about his gut Shatner felt each week.

I love the green wrap around. But everything on the front cover is brown (to tie in with the word "past"?) so the full gloriousness of the green wrap around would be lost.

Kirk sometimes looked like he needed a Captain's Caftan.

Or each minute. In "The Trouble With Tribbles" he did a quick-change during a brief elevator ride to the Bridge.

Was that before or after a thousand dung stained Tribbles Halo jumped onto his face?

I just finished watching "The Troubles with Tribbles" because of this post. I watched it all the way through without any scene skips. I even watched the preview for alternate takes. I thought Guy had introduced the clothing change, and I was going to lord it over his head until he reached my age. And I don't even like the episode.

But I was watching for a costume change. I didn't spot him wearing the regular shirt, only the wraparound, and can't even remember an elevator scene. But since I've been relaxing for over an hour, it's highly possible I'm not running on full thrusters. But it had the CGI effects, and I noticed the little Enterprise outside Lurry's office was moving.

When the tribbles come tumbling down, Mr. Leslie is filling up space in the background. All Eddie Paskey has to really do in it is just react, so we get the steady Leslie glare from behind Baris, and facing Kirk. His expression made me think about what was going through his head, which made me remember "This Side of Paradise" when he tells Kirk to effo because he and everybody else are committing mutiny.

And Leslie's glare in "Tribbles" looks like he might still be thinking it.

Like I said, I've been relaxing.

What is "relaxing" code for? :)

Did you Like the DS9 Episode where they visit that adventure through time travel?

No costume change in Trouble with Tribbles.
