Arrow - Season 2

Laurel is at the opposite of the spectrum. She is socialized like everyone else, to the point that she is a stereotype of the 20-something working girl professional who just got fired and doesn't have a boyfriend. She could be on Sex in the City.

She is the pov character for that demo. It's also what makes her character bulletproof.

Edit: It's also why imo she'll never be Canary because of her demographic representation.

Same thing with Tockman. In the comics he was NOT dying after all, due to a medical mixup. Sure, this one was showing symptoms of something, but it could be psycho-somatic. I just wanna see more of that guy, he was a good villain played by a very good actor. :)

New episode tonight:
"The Promise"
Oliver is stunned when he discovers that Slade is Starling City; back on the island, Sara and Oliver form a plan to deal with Slade's growing Mirakuru-induced rage.
Not really anything we didn't know already in that synopsis. Really looking forward to the episode tonight.

Was that trailer all from tonight's episode, or a compilation? Looks like Roy is joining Oliver and Sara to face Slade.

It's a compilation of everything from tonight, through at least "Suicide Squad" and "Birds of Prey", going simply by the characters involved.

Apparently tonight will have a heavy slant on Island action. And if you note the trailer, Ollie gets his island outfit at last! It goes with the notion that not only will he have left the island for extended periods of time - I'm thinking he'll spend time in Russia and then in Starling prior to returning to the island to be "rescued".

Sara is so dead, though, I'm sad to say. "I'm not that easy to kill" is one of those foreshadowing lines where you know nothing good will come about as a result. :(
Of course she is. That's pretty much been her reason for being on the show ever since we saw Shado die instead of her. In fact, that's exactly what is going to satiate Slade in getting his revenge.

Well, that was good. The island stuff was big action, and the present stuff was nail-biting suspense.

I do kinda wonder, what exactly is Oliver gaining by concealing his relation to Slade from his family? It's not like admitting that outs him as the vigilante.

I was thinking the same thing. All he really had to say was that Slade was a psycho who was on the island trying to kill him for 5 years.

That said, members of my household felt this was the best Arrow ever. I wouldn't go quite that far, there have been several exceptional episodes, but certainly this one had it all. I really didn't want it to end, I needed more, more, more.

Nice to see Roy, even if this felt far too short. From that trailer, there is a scene with Ollie, Roy, Sara, and Slade squaring off, I guess that is next week? So more Roy coming. He's underdeveloped, but I can't help but want him to get more screen.

I'm not disagreeing that Sara looks like a death, but I like her so much I want to rationalize some kind scenario where she lives and stays on the show. So I'll say that they introduced this sub-plot/backstory with her and Sin that is yet to play out. So hoping she survives Slade. That said, I certainly see what everyone is pointing out.

How many episodes are left this season?

I preferred the Deathstroke mask from the island flashbacks to the "current days" mask.

So, now we know how Ollie gets in good with the russian mafia.

What's up with Slade? I realize he's been pissed at Ollie ever since he found out the circumstances surrounding Shado's death, but come on, talk about overreacting. It's not like Ollie himself pulled the trigger on Shado. And the two men were friends for a long time. Why is Slade hellbent on destroying Oliver and hurting his family?
