Makes you wonder if any of the characters are still carrying a wallet around out of habit.

I don't think a lack of condoms would stop people from hooking up. Aside from there being other methods of birth control and various sexual activities that don't result in pregnancy, these people are under a lot of stress-- they'd risk it. :rommie:

And, no, there's nothing wrong with Beth and Daryl getting together.

As someone that was about to pull the plug with the tedious and interminable prison/Govenor/Woodbury plotline, I have to say I'm enjoying the hell out of the show now it's got moving again...

    This.
Actually just stopping the pendulum would suffice, why he continued to let it run is beyond me, the first thought that came to my mind when he up-righted it and it began to tick was is going to start gonging and attract walkers and sure as $#!t that is what happened.

I'm kinda getting tired of our characters doing stoopid things to set up these scenarios, I'm starting to notice a pattern in the writing, I hope this won't become the norm.

It has been touched upon very briefly with Lori's pregnancy, but in a normal situation, I'd agree. But, with the knowledge that every human dies and comes back as a Walker, as long as the death isn't a traumatic injury to the brain, that complicates things. At some point, these people have to be asking themselves if it's worth the continued fight for survival. With the exception of Glen, the rest of the Season 1-3 cast has no hope that anything will change. And that's assuming Glen is buying Abraham and Eugene's story about Washington.

^^^ Question: is the Walking Dead appearing in all international markets outside of the US the same week it's a new episode here? If so, that's kind of unprecedented isn't it?

Interesting. I think some would--more because they hope the ZA will be solved and they can return to normal life, with the expectation of picking up where they left off.

Well, the risk of pregnancy did not stop Tyrese and Karen, or Glenn and Maggie (recall Glenn asking Maggie if she was pregnant). We have to assume the prison was not originally stocked with condoms (don't even think about it), or whatever was scavenged from Woodbury, but people take chances.

Exactly; after a time, people would manage it the old fashioned way.

^^^ I would think there would be however a massive supply of birth control pills available at most vacant pharmacies for the few living humans left?

I don't know if they appear in the U.S. first but here is a list of the Fox international channels, they may be able to help.

Not sure what your point is here. People in the real world die too. Civilization goes on. Just because people in the walking dead universe have to develop new body disposal methods after death is no reason to give up on the human race.

If people think they are going to die every day and are living in such close quarters they would be pairing up all over the place. It may not be logical but it is human nature.

To be fair Daryl's not exactly the kind who'd have seen a lot of grandfather clocks.

In the comics Rick still carries around his big chain of keys as a habit. I'm guessing some people hang on to those things for sentimental reasons.

Daryl doesn't live in the woods full time and I'm sure as many house they have scavenged he would have seen a few, not that I buy he doesn't know what one is.
I'm also pretty sure Herschel had one.

There's a difference between "having seen one" and being familiar with how they work.

He had a smile when it started ticking again.

My guess is he brought back some pleasant memories or a sense of normality to him during the internal crisis he was facing, and it was a risk he was willing to take. Especially since up to that point, they had found very few zombies in the club.

Even super zombie apocalypse heroes can make a bad decision from time to time.

Not sure. When Glenn was hunting for "morning after" pills for Lori (season two), he was already active with Maggie, but we never heard him mention getting birth control pills, condoms, etc.. Jump to season four, where Maggie says she is not pregnant. In other words, they have not found any form of birth control during their many trips for supplies.

Ummmm... The first time he and Maggie made a run to the drug store she catches him getting condoms (this is when he was getting a pregnancy test for Lori), this in fact the first time they have sex and later in the episode he tries to proposition her again by saying they still have 11 condoms left.

This also falls under "just because we never see it doesn't mean it's not happening." I mean we've never seen/heard them buying toilet paper but I think it's safe to assume that's something they've snatched up on supply runs and such. Condoms and birth control pills could be things they've gotten as well. It just probably wouldn't be very dramatically interesting to see Rick making out a detailed grocery list and then seeing Glenn getting precisely everything on that list.

Condoms exist, birth control pills exist and both are plentiful especially considering it seems the overwhelming majority of the population is gone. We don't need to see every minutiae. Glenn and Maggie have condoms and/or birth control pills.
