Discussion of 9 minute trailer

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

So I guess I'm the only one who had no problem with the girls commentary and found her enthusiasm quite nice?

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

Who the hell was that girl laughing? At inappropriate parts of the movie too!

Anyway..I broke down and watched the 9min because the new IMAX theater he has delayed its opening and the other one apparently wasn't showing it..ugh. Enjoyed it very much, it certainly allays the fear that this crew is not out there exploring or on missions. I saw some people quibble about the aliens...well they were just alien enough that I didn't mind that they weren't totally "alien" like something from SW prequels. I have the impression the IMAX presentation was way more impressive than the "iffy" video...:bolian:

Laughing at funny bits is okay. But she was, "LOL LOOK McCOY IS TALKING LOL ZOMG LOL!!"

:rolleyes::brickwall:

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

TSfS novelization is ranked right up there as not just an excellent novelization, but an excellent novel. It's also a favourite of some current and recent ST novelists.
To be honest, I only read it once and it was way back in high school. I don't even remember much about it other than I thought it was about as good as the movie.

Maybe I should reread it...

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

Maybe it's a cultural thing. ;)

I prefer to listen to the movie, not the audience.

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

I was talking about this particular instance and this leaked video.
Not generalizing about my movie watching preferences.

I think she's funny.

Her love for the "halfing's leaf" has clearly slowed her mind...

Downloading it as I type, once a video is on the web it can't be recalled, too many people save it and re-post it to other sites that are known for that. YouTube is hopeless, it's gotten so commercialized, things last only hours on there. Sometimes years, then somebody get a bee in their bonnet and it gets taken down. I had a Star Wars video saved for 3 years then it get taken down, so stupid.
YouTube is only good for "Official HD content now".
I really don't know why those people even try with YouTube it's an exercise in futility.

Some people are dismayed about this, for me I know I am going to pay to see this movie, so nothing is lost by paramount. The actual movie will be on the net in 2013 days after it comes out, this is the reality of the internet today.
But I don't want to see it just like that. Although I will re-watch it there before it hits bluray
18 minutes left.....till a get to watch it:bolian:

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

I missed it!!! Darn work. I suppose there are no links to watch the 9 minute trailer. Aw, shoot!

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

The silhouetted people between the camera and the screen made me think I was watching MST3K...
...although in this case, the movie on the screen looks better than the normal MST3K "cheesy movie".

I'd be pissed if she was in the cinema to any screening I went to. 2hrs 50 minutes of that through the hobbit? No thanks. Though clearly she was getting off on the McCoy/Kirk scenes.

Re: Very iffy copy of 9 minute trailer

I don't get it... how is five minutes, 34 seconds to be construed as 9 minutes?

The one I saw online was 9:00 (with the official trailer after it, making it about 10:30 total). However, it seem most (if not all) of those have been taken down by Paramount.

Perhaps you saw this version (link below) but that is not everything I saw. That link cuts short at about 5:35. The one I saw has more -- including scenes on the Enterprise Bridge:
