Did you ever cry watching Star Trek?

TWOK: Spock's death.

What You Leave Behind: The montage of scenes from the series, especially those depicting friendship.

The Inner Light: Final scene as Picard clutches the flute and then begins to play a dirge for the people he loved.

Definitely had that "about to cry" feeling and moist eyes, but never all out sobbing.

In TWOK when Kirk is saying "Spock" behind the shield, where you can see his lips move but no sound, followed by that sad hopeless look on his face. Then later at the funeral when Kirk stumbles on "most human" during the eulogy. I really thought this was it, Spock was gone from Star Trek from that point on.

In Inner Light, as Picard realizes what is happening as he sees Batai come back, saying "Oh, it's me, isn't it?" How it all unfolds from there to that final point where he's playing the whistle/flute thing.

In Sarek, when Picard can't contain the emotions of Sarek and he starts to lose it.

There are probably a few more, but I can't recall them right now.

Star Trek has historically often had problems being truly emotional the way most television programs and films are able. But "The Visitor" gets me every time. "I never would have asked...."

Nothing in adulthood, but I cried, cried and cried some more when I saw "Star Trek II" for the first time. I was probably around eight years old.

I'm an old softie so I tend to cry at emotional moments in films and TV shows anyway.

But, in Trek, the one that stands out for me is in TOS Amok Time when Spock asks Chapel, "Would you make make me some of that Plomeek soup?" and she gets all teary and says, "Oh, I'd be very glad to do that Mr. Spock!". I am welling up now as I type this.

Then of course there's Spock's death scene in TWOK which numerous other posters have mentioned.

I also cry every time I have to see any of Nemesis. LOL!!

I cried because the opening scene of TNG's "Face of the Enemy" scared the utter crap out of me when I was little.

Other than that, nope - but that's not to say that Star Trek doesn't have any profound effects on me because it does, very much so.

Have come close to crying over the last day or two due to all the audio glitches in the TNG-R season one Blu-ray set. :scream:

I cried during that episode where the loopy old guy thinks Janeway is his daughter.

I cried during The Visitor.

I sometimes cry during Duet.

Sometimes when I see The Offspring.

Sometimes I cry at the end of Alliances because I know the next episode is Threshold.

Sorry if this is off topic for this thread...I haven't broken down and gotten it yet - but I was at the theater event. Can you expound on what types of "glitches" you're encountering? (even if in a new thread)

I had a tear in my eye in 1994 at the end of "All good Things' as the Enterprise fly's off into the distance. After 7 years my favorite tv show was at an end..sure there was a movie that November but it did not matter. I was also a little emotional at the end of the DS9, Voy and Ent but not as much as TNG.

I've listed some of the issues in several posts about halfway down. :techman:

Thanks! :bolian:

Duet - When all the false bravado comes crashing down and he starts crying. What a perfectly executed scene.

Emissary - Sisko: "No..its not Linear"

Inner Light, but not at the end, when Picard plays the flute. It's the moment that Batai shows up when Kamin is old, to reveal the truth about what is going on. Then Eleen joins them etc.

Anyone who has has experienced loss may identify with that thought of being able to see someone again, but never getting that chance. Batai showing up out of the blue is a very effective emotional trigger.

DS9 moves me to tears a few times. Spock's death in TWOK still gets me now and then. The end of VI does, too. That's very much a childhood movie for me. There are a couple of points in TNG and VOY where I'm on the brink.
