My biggest problem with the CW show is that in order to keep a plot going, suddenly Jedi seem to forget they can use the force.

Me too. For example, Cad Bane shouldn't be able to escape from two Jedi. Then there's the Jedi killed by Savage in Monster. He doesn't have Force skills at this point, and instead of using the Force on him, they run up and attack with punches and kicks, even though he's swinging a giant LOTR-style weapon. The clones are no better. Instead of keeping their distance and shooting Savage from out of the range of his weapon, they too run right up to him. These tactics make no sense and only happen in order to facilitate a predetermined outcome. I'm all for practical limitations on Force use, but the point is that too many Jedi characters don't even try.

Indeed... Jedi crush 2 battle droids with one hand flick in one ep, but let Cad Bane just run away. Battle droids can be replaced, but Bane is a toy figure, so removing him is a no no. And there in is the bottom of it. Villains sell as toys, and they cant keep replacing em, even if it makes the heros look like fools.

Bane has rocket boots so he is hard to stop.

The points made about Cad Bane are one of the reasons why I don't really like him...they essentially made him a "bad ass", almost an "uber bounty hunter" as another legit challenge for the Jedi, as if they don't already have enough at this point. Bane has almost been elevated to Boba Fett type levels in Clone Wars in terms of popularity. I don't get the appeal at all.

Plus there was a fleet backing up the Imperial transports. It's not to far a leap of logic to figure if the Rebels started making attack runs on the transports the stardestroyers would be able to pick off some if not all of the attacking fighters. Plus I'd wager the Empire had fighter screens for the transports as they went down.

Mentioning fighters brings up the Imperial tactical failure, if they have hundreds of TIE fighters on hand, they could've used them to intercept the fleeing Rebel transports, which had a mere 2 X-Wings each escorting them. The Rebel's single Ion cannon would likely be useless against hundreds of small targets.

Bascially, the Empire messed up whole operation. Darth Vader is a screw-up hiding behind sith powers.

I could be wrong, but it looked to me like Mother Talzin just transformed into green mist and escaped. I don't think she was completely incorporeal, like Obi-Wan was. I wouldn't be surprised if she could re-solidify at will. Plus, I have to wonder whether becoming green mist was an ability she always had, and moreover what her "true form" is, given the creepy echoes that always occur whenever she speaks. Does she really exist just as green mist? But, this is all supposition on my part.

I don't know. The episode ended on the very clear note that Ventress is now alone. If Talzin is still alive, or can "resolidify" then that wouldn't be the case, no?

That was in a specific context. We see them using the Force on many occasions during the PT and TCW. When they don't even try, it's like their ability to use their brains has diminished.

The ability to rocket jump is insignificant compared to the power of the force...

Obi-Wan, one of the elite Jedi, didn't even do anything like that when facing Jango Fett who was using a jetpack. I'd imagine there is a big difference trying to use the Force on small objects compared to heavy fast moving objects that can shoot at you.

That entire thing was dumb as hell. It was from a video game where everything is over the top as possible.

We know the heaviest things that were picked up with the Force in the movies by the strongest Force users, Palpatine and Yoda, were an X-Wing and a Senate Pod. Yoda was cleary struggling with both.

I think the problem is that you think the Jedi are suppose to be gods with their powers when they clearly aren't.

We know the heaviest things that were picked up with the Force in the movies by the strongest Force users, Palpatine and Yoda, were an X-Wing and a Senate Pod. Yoda was cleary struggling with both.

The problem I have with the comic and video games is what the Jedi can do with the Force is too exaggerated, they always make it too powerful.

In the first Clone Wars series, Mace Windu was destorying an entire driod army on his own. Ridiculous. If the Jedi are so popular how the hell were they wiped out in the first place?

That's why I only go by how the movies deplict the Force.

If so, then you should want their force usage to be consistently less powerful. If winning is too easy for the heroes, it makes the story less interesting. The villains should be more powerful than the heroes, not for any merchandise-related reason, but because it makes the heroes' journey more suspenseful and their victory more impressive. That's why Luke Skywalker had only one X-Wing, two torpedoes, and his instincts against an entire moon-sized battle station that blew up planets. Your classic David vs. Goliath scenario and then some.

Here is an episode from the first Clone Wars. Mace Windu takes on an entire droid army with his bare hands and WINS! I love this show and this was awesome, but it would have been SO ridiculous in one of the movies.

For the most part. Although knocking Star Destroyers out of orbit, in the Jedi Academy trilogy, was enough to kill Dorsk 81.

I thought Talzin was abandoning Ventress.

Maybe. She didn't exactly seem very forthcoming about Savage Opress, when Ventress mentioned about his betrayal, considering she knew where Savage had gone.
