Star Wars: The Clone Wars S4

The books, and yes, the video game, have shown HUGE uses of the force, with little to no effort. A little consistancy, and not just letting the "toy of the season" bad guy win all the time, is not too much to ask.

Here is an episode from the first Clone Wars. Mace Windu takes on an entire droid army with his bare hands and WINS! I love this show and this was awesome, but it would have been SO ridiculous in one of the movies.

I really enjoy this episode!

Well, watching a show and recording dialogue for it are two different things. Largely because you get paid for the latter.

On the source of the Witches' power, Dave Filoni on the Forcecast, April 15, 2011:

In my discussion with George, he said that the Nightsisters are not using the Force. He was pretty clear about that. He wanted it to be something else. [ ...] George really likes the Jedi to be set aside as very special, very unique, and I think that it makes sense that they have an opposite which are the Sith. And he likes to mainly keep that as the Force-weilding group. The Nightsisters are tapped into a magic that seemed to be, when described to me, to be something else. Although I could take a bigger galactic picture of it and say at the end of the day perhaps that some version of the Force that they're tapping into through a different means than the Jedi do.
So, George says it isn't the Force, then Dave walks that back as fast and far as he can.

Wow, that's just weird. Lucas was the one who originally defined the Force as an energy field connecting all life in the universe... and now he's saying it's a special mojo only for a narrow, elite group. Well, back then he was a young outsider, now he's the unchallenged lord of his own fiefdom, so I can see why his perspective would've become less populist.

Lucas has changed his mind about a lot of things over the years, which is why I continually suggest fans read "The Secret History of Star Wars" which details these instances and examines Lucas own life leading up to his creation of Star Wars. It truly is a fascinating read.

That was how Obi-Wan explained the Force in ANH. It is still the only explainatoin I will ever need. I choose to ignore how it is explained in all the later versions. ;)

It's even more explicit in the commentaries for the Savage Oppress eps that were on the SW site before they took them down.

It wasn't explained in the later versions. Thus, a conflicting explanation didn't happen.

I could be wrong, but it looked to me like Mother Talzin just transformed into green mist and escaped.

Which brings up the question of whether the following has already happened, or has yet to happen in following episodes.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Maul

Opress presented Maul with the talisman from Talzin, and subsequently reclaimed fragments of his lost memories, and the former Sith Lord was brought back to Dathomir to be treated by Mother Talzin

Presumably it's either shown as flashbacks, or after almost an entire season, Savage is still wandering around the galaxy trying to find Maul.

King George needs to be detrohned.

Seriusly he knows jack about his own universe. Any canonsavvy could sell the franchise better.

I would SW to be given to a fan council consisting of Luceno, John Jackson Miller and David Filoni.

Never ever let the fans have creative control of a franchise they will screw it up especially the EU fans who for years have suffered from the delusion that Star Wars should in any way be beholden to something only a few fans probably even know about let alone care about.

My council idea is more Platos Republic then messy mass democracy, these guys would not mess it up, Filiomi already proved it.

delusion that Star Wars should in any way be beholden to something only a few fans probably even know about let alone care about.

It works fine for the Clone Wars even if Lucas makes the break canon evry now and then.

Which is his right because while Star Wars EU fans live in a magic make believe land where everyone craps rainbows out here in sucky reality land books and video games are trumped by tv and film unless its a video game or book/comic series to start with.

Not sure what you mean by "breaking canon". The show is what it is. The first cartoon is what it is. The (various versions of the) movies are what they are. Not even the movies fit seamlessly together, no matter which combination of versions you pick.

(Oh, and the books and comics are what they are, too. Everything is what it is.)

Well, he's also been saying that Dengar is an 'original trilogy' character, therefore cool.

While I doubt Pegg has watched TCW, I think we all agree that they have really raised the bar on the prequels.

I rewatched Empire the other day and Yoda's speech about the force still gets me, all these years gone by:

Judge me by my size, do you? And well you should not. For my ally is the Force- and a powerful ally it is. Life, creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us, and binds us. Luminous beings are we! Not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here, between you... me... the tree... the rock... everywhere! Yes, even between the land... and the ship!

(actually teared up a bit writing that)

It was Yoda's speech to the Clone Troopers in the very first episode of the series that made me sit up and pay attention- not only did it contain the humour that character possessed in Empire, but the pathos, as well.

Anyway, I buy that the Sister's access a different well of power than the Force. It's a big galaxy.
