DC to REBOOT???

Bruce would have no interest in Stormwatch.

I don't know... there's Midnighter... they might have something in common. Maybe make Apollo jealous...

Maybe one night Bruce has had a little to much to drink... Apollo is there, all hunky...

It practically writes itself.

Nah...Batman can overcome any temptation.

...if he had enough time to prepare.

Apollo... he moves at the Speed of Light... even the Batman will succumb to his... love....

I dunno...Batman does have a lot of "just in case" plans. Besides, if Bats did get some lovin', its probably all part of some needlessly elaborate plan on his part. :p

For some reason I have a feeling that Midnighter could kick Bruce's ass all across town even if Bruce had time to prepare for it.

That's what he would claim, but, we both know, in the morning, Bruce is making pancakes for Apollo.

Or... OR... Three way. I'm just saying. We don't know what this reboot will bring, we just need to keep an open mind.

As for Cyborg, disagree. He was already a Justice League briefly. And he is supposed to be the main character/Superman of the current Flashpoint storyline, even though DC has a funny way of showing it, not giving him a solo FP miniseries or the reboot solo series, though the miniseries is supposed to be upping his profile. Also he's been a key member of the Teen Titans for decades and been on the Superfriends and Teen Titans cartoon, so I think his profile is bigger than Smallville (though the Smallville appearances were cool).

I wasn't trying to say anything of the sort that he's unpopular. I mean, he's a classic Titan character, and Teen Titan was DC's best-selling title in the 80s, and it hasn't been doing aweful in the last decade, either. But that's actually my point. Cyborg is associated with the TT, not the JL. But the nuDC doesn't seem to care much about character - team associations, otherwise J'onn J'onzz would be in the fuckin' League!

Yeah, he's more associated with the Titans, but there aren't many of his old teammates on the Teen Titans team anymore. And since they've decided to 'age' him it makes little sense for him to stay with the Titans, especially if they are trying to up his profile. I mean, keeping him around the Teen Titans might start coming off as too creepy.

I don't think its a bad move to graduate Cyborg, to move him on to the Justice League. Open up the TT slot for a new/different character.

Keep in mind, this is the guy who had a false personality implanted to overtake his "normal" personality just in case anyone tried to mentally manipulate him (or something like that).

Who the hell plans for that?!? :p

Anyway, the pancakes would have already been made...if he had enough time to prepare.

That's true. Bruce would have Alfred make them.

What? You think Bruce shags anywhere but his place? If he's going to shag a dude like Apollo, Bruce is going to do it in style. Breakfast on the patio... with mimosas. Blueberry pancakes.

But J'onn has been in the League since the beginning. I think they're were even times when Bats would say to J'onn, "you're the league."

It always cracks me up when people say this. Even though the current DCU continuity may say that the Martian Manhunter has been in the League since the very beginning, in reality has was written out of the book in issue #71 (May 1969) and didn't come back until issue #228 (July 1984). The book was highly successful without him for FIFTEEN YEARS. Since I started reading the book during this period, I can easily see him not being on the team. It's only been since the Detroit League era that they started doing this whole "J'onn is indespensible to the League" business.
Yep, for me J'Onn was the guy who popped up in the reprints.(yes kids they reprinted old stories in new issues back then)

For me it was the DC Digests that were printed where I discovered all the "old" stories. I bought a JLA digest and had no clue who J'onn was.

I hope we get a Stormwatch Vs Justice League mini out of this relaunch :)

Or at least... a Midnighter vs. Batman...
This actually sort of highlights how bad an idea bringing in Wildstorm, or at least the Authority in particular, is.

Like, does anyone want DC to buy the rights to the Squadron Supreme?

A copy always loses to the real deal. Midnighter especially. I imagine he'll fall to the similar gambit Batman used on Prometheus: give him motor neurone disease by hacking his tech.

That always bugged me. It was less a "Batman is awesome" moment than a "Prometheus and by extension Lex Luthor are both unbelievably stupid" moment. I suppose that's slightly better than a "Catwoman is here because I wrote myself into a corner" moment.

Midnighter is more a homage of Batman than a copy in my opinion. A much more violent and dirty version. More akin to the Dark Knight Returns version of the character. I suppose that it would depend on who the writer is and if there was a edict from editorial not to make Bruce look bad which I could see. Personally I think Batman stands on his own and doesn't need that sort of nonsense.

According to a retailer roadshow report from Baltimore over at Bleeding Cool, Batman has been active in the new DCU longer than Superman - Supes is "the world's first superhero" because when he appears the word has not yet been coined. Bats is kind of an urban legend in Gotham City, working in the shadows.

And yeah, per Didio the more successful a comic has been the less that's being changed about it - that's why Batman and Green Lantern are least-revised.

Makes sense.

^ I found that to be interesting and not surprising. I mean look at Captain America now. Marvel has pretty much done the same thing. They're relaunching Captain America with a new number one with Steve Rogers back in the uniform.
