DC to REBOOT???

^ That is what I thought after not seeing any news about them. Maybe they'll get a mini eventually or something?? I'm wondering if Power Girl will be phased out. I was really enjoying Judd Winnick's book.

Gotta keep some characters in reserve to replace the failed books.

So with Superman, Action Comics, Superboy and Supergirl being announced tomorrow that means that JSA didn't make the cut.

Mister Terrific has a title, though.

But he is a modern hero and the new version might not have his origin based on the Gold age character. It's just a guess but I think the original JSA are going to be kept in WW2 and before.

I have a feeling that is true as well. Which might be good... as long as those characters are active in other ways. I don't know.

And other new title: Suicide Squad #1. Here's DC's description:

"Harley Quinn! Deadshot! King Shark! They’re a team of death-row super villains recruited by the government to take on missions so dangerous – they’re sheer suicide! Who will be the first to crack under the pressure? Find out in SUICIDE SQUAD #1, written by Adam Glass (FLASHPOINT: LEGION OF DOOM) with art by Marco Rudy (THE SHIELD)."
Well, I can think of at least six reasons why this is the worst-conceived title they've got. Stupid bastards.

As much as I've enjoyed the JSA, this is probably a good idea. I can't imagine anyone having the discipline to adhere to it in the long term, though.

I still like the idea of a 1960s/1970s JSA.

Superman's costume vaguely stinks, but it's not hideous or anything. I liked that "Ultimate" Superman better.

I'm not a huge fan of any of the Superman, Superboy, or Supergirl costume edits, but none of them are gag-worthy. Red Robin's costume change is interesting, and I'm willing to give it a chance. It's not as if his costume has a long history behind it.

Edit: ^Mister Terrific is the most interesting of the JSA characters anyway, so I'm happy that he's getting his own book.

That was my thought as well, and it looks like the titles in reserve are going to include Power Girl and Secret Six, along with perhaps a new Shazam title and whatever they decide to do with the JSA.

That's right, they DON'T have a Shazam title... which to me is curious. But, then, maybe Captain Marvel hasn't sold well. i've always liked the character.

Most of the WW2 JSA are dead. The JSA that Johns popularized are mostly legacies like Stargirl etc and it'll probably be over his dead body before they retcon her or the others.

Harley went from the most clothed woman in the DCU to the least. I guess, there will be more #1s in October, I mean we knowabout the "My Greatest Adventure" book, which could just be a mini, but I thought Batman Beyond and Justice League Beyond were a certaint.

And, I am not feeling the new Super suit, so far at least.

There are rumors that Paul Cornell is doing a Captain Marvel series.

Will Billy Batson be Captain Marvel again... He became the Wizard, right? And Freddy was Marvel? I don't know what's going on with them, I know things got shook up....

Yeah Freddy was the new Captain Marvel and Billy had become the Wizard after the events of Infinite Crisis. Cornell on the Captain Marvel book has not been confirmed yet.

I just realized... so, with Stormwatch, that brings us Midnighter. Does this mean we will have a Batman vs. Midnighter comic at some point? Or is Midnighter going to be a part of Batman Inc. Come on, he IS Batman after all.

The current Captain Marvel is called Captain Thunder. It's made up of six kids that has each one of Captain Marvel's powers and they combine together to form Captain Marvel. Billy I think forms the head.

Isn't that just in the Flashpoint thing that's going on? I meant what was going on right before this Alt-Universe stuff.

True. There are more things that are being talked about than 52 titles can fit. I wonder if there might be a "DC Relaunch Wave Two" a couple of months down the road, with revamped concepts that didn't fit into the first wave because there wasn't the room.

The following current titles are missing from the relaunch (apart from Batman Beyond and Batman, Inc., which we know will be relaunching at some point):

Adventure Comics
Booster Gold
Doc Savage
Gotham City Sirens (although the characters are all accounted for in other titles)
Justice Society of America
Power Girl
Red Robin
Secret Six
The Spirit
Superman/Batman
T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents
Zatanna

Adventure Comics is gone

Powergirl, Red Robin and Zatanna are cancelled.

It seems the same is for Secret Six if Deadshot and the Shark are both in SS.

Don't know about JSA. I think DC would want to relaunch it. It still has a sizable fanbase.

I dunno. "Skintight costume drawn as nude" to "sex shorts and corset" is kind of a lateral move. The only Harley Quinn costume that wasn't easily convertible to male gaze garbage was that fan-made one in the "Gotham City" poster, where she looks hideous, as a Joker groupie rightly should.

But whatever way you slice it, this sucks. I want Scandal Savage back.
