DC to REBOOT???

Well, if both companies can't move their primary sales channel to the Internet in the next couple of years they're fucked - most people don't know what a comic book shop is or where to find one.

Time Warner should add a comics channel to their cable line up. For 14.99 a month you can select DC titles (current and backissue) and read all you want.

I think they'll all end up doing something like that, eventually. Subscription-based apps for computers and devices, probably pretty close to the Netflix model.

There's always the possibility that Disney and Time Warner will simply utilize Marvel and DC characters for film, TV and merchandising and largely shut down the publishing side of things. For now Disney is leaving Marvel's publishing alone and Time Warner is making a big push to increase DC's brand visibility across the board, including an expansion in terms of publishing. Comic book fans should be glad of that, even if there they don't agree with all of the editorial decisions.

Comic books are a self-sustaining R&D treasure-trove for film and tv (testing out story-lines/character variations/etc.), and the smallish fan-bases represent a lot of great free marketing for when those movies and tv shows come out (as well as a buffer for opening days). Disney and Time Warner would be fools to get rid of comic books.

You know, whatever you might say about the eventual fate of Ryan Choi, it's good to see Jamie Reyes has caught on and stuck. Jason Rusch is kinda in a weird John Stewart-ish position.

I like Superman's costume. It looks a lot better than the Justice League version. Supergirl's redesign I can live with as well. Kara looks a bit older to me. It's Connor's redesign that I don't like. Just speculation on my part but it would appear that this will be a totally new Superboy. Given that the Teen Titans aren't supposed to know each other and the fact that the cover for "Superboy #1" appears to have Connor "rebuilt" makes me think this could be Superboy 2.0 or something like that.

That gimp suit? it's just missing a zip across the mouth and a glory hole, I thought we were talking about the actual reboot.

And other new title: Suicide Squad #1. Here's DC's description:

"Harley Quinn! Deadshot! King Shark! They’re a team of death-row super villains recruited by the government to take on missions so dangerous – they’re sheer suicide! Who will be the first to crack under the pressure? Find out in SUICIDE SQUAD #1, written by Adam Glass (FLASHPOINT: LEGION OF DOOM) with art by Marco Rudy (THE SHIELD)."

And there are a lot of guys like me. If too many of us say goodbye, it's gonna be felt, regardless how many iPad files are downloaded.

Not regardless of how many iPad files are downloaded.

Offended fans always say this when a property that's failing is rebooted, The old paradigm was failing; DC may as well either succeed or go down trying something different.

WHO the hell is talking Star Trek?!?!?
I stopped reading DC when they started to bring the dumbest stories and ideas fron the "Silver Age". I am and always will be a fan of the "Byrne- Superman" era. And LOVED most of the stories of EVERYTHING I bought and read. But now with Geoff "The GOD" Johns, DiDio and a few others I just haven't and won't buy them anymore.
As for "REBOOTS", JUST how many times has Superman's origin been rebooted now?....like maybe 5-6????? :guffaw:

Only those 3 characters? Small team.

So with Superman, Action Comics, Superboy and Supergirl being announced tomorrow that means that JSA didn't make the cut.

Mister Terrific has a title, though.

But he is a modern hero and the new version might not have his origin based on the Gold age character. It's just a guess but I think the original JSA are going to be kept in WW2 and before.
