werewolf Josh is probably the creepiest werewolf Ive seen on tv/film. Was he sniffing her or the blood from the miscarraige...eeeeep!

so do vampires become ghosts too when they die? I think it would be more interesting if becoming a vampire means you lose your soul, so when a vamp dies(staked) theres no ghost after...one of the prices to pay for being the undead.

For what it's worth, it would be great if we could keep the main show thread separate from the thread comparing the American version to British version.

I don't want to have to worry about running into spoilers from the British show when we're talking about the US version.

    Just my two cents . . . .

My guess is that the fetus was changin' thanks to the full moon and the change caused the miscarraige.

Nina was more worried about the baby surviving her time of the month.

Maybe if Nora was a wolf too, her kid would change with her and they'd both be safe?

I'm unclear about the miscarriage. I thought Nora lost the baby but my wife thinks otherwise. Did they keep it vague on purpose or did I miss something?

I thought it was pretty clear, unless Nora was lying, Josh out right says I should have told you sooner to prepare for this, although I never thought we'd lose the baby, or something to that effect. I don't know why she would lie about something like that though. I don't even know why she didn't tell him about the scratch. Im assuming probably so he wouldn't freak out and constantly apologize to her.

Nora lost the baby, but she's been scratched and it should turn her into a werewolf next season. It's that whole "closin' a door, openin' a window" thing.

They're debating the baby thing at io9.com, too, so the question is: was the show being deliberately ambiguous or did they unintentionally confuse people?

I think the implication is that she lost the baby, but they never actually say so during that final conversation. They just talk about how they thought the baby was "normal," but they were wrong. Which could refer to a miscarriage or lycanthropy.

Plus, if she did lose the baby, they don't really dwell on it much. They spend most of that chat talking about Josh's problem, how he became a werewolf, is there a cure, etcetera.

That's probably what's puzzling viewers. If she did lose the baby, why isn't that the focus of the conversation, not how painful the transformations are?

Being a Werewolf is far more unusual than a miscarriage; plus, Nora had reasons for thinking about how painful it would be. If the baby transformed and survived, there will come a point, either in the next month or the month after since it's growing so fast, that she would be killed by it; so if it did survive, she would be more interested in that.

Who's to say the baby transformed in the womb at all...

It's just as likely that the stress of the situation and being pushed to the ground like that could of caused the issue.

I like the Nora character, but I hope to god that Josh gets over this apology shtick.

    Me.

    :p

The fetus was developin' faster than normal, it was throwin' Nora's hormones out of whack, and there was that funky sound effect before she pulled her blood-covered fingers up from her crotch. We know it was a full moon, and Josh was changin' into the wolf in the locked room while his child was turnin' into a wolf pup in his one-night-stand's belly.

Yeah, I suppose you can make a case that "Ohigod, werewolves are real!" is a bigger deal than "How sad, I had a miscarriage." Which would explain Nora's reaction.

Yet after making such a big deal of her pregnancy in previous eps, the fact that Josh and Nora barely mention the miscarriage afterwards is probably what is confusing people.

Hmm, maybe that scene got edited down because of time constraints....and they'll touch on it next season.

Could be. The scene started as if they had been talking a while already. Maybe there will be extended scenes on the DVD.

That's one interpretation, and it's got a better than average chance at being what happened, even if it did though the baby didn't turn into a pup. It's a fetus that went through the pain stress of a shift during development. It's possible that caused the bleeding and that the baby is fine otherwise.

Eventually I'd prefer Josh to gain the ability to shift on command retaining his mind, otherwise we're going to be getting more than 12 full moons per year at this rate lol.

He doesn't have to turn into a werewolf every episode.

And it would be shitty if he did.

    Wait? Did he?

^He's not changing every episode, but they're kind've playing fast and loose with the coming of yet another full moon without really showcasing the amount of time that should of passed between it and the last one.

It could also be attributed to shock.. A friend of mine who miscarried a few years ago was out of it for quite a while.. Not really in denial.. Just completely avoiding the topic..

I'm in the camp that believes the baby survived and that it transformed in the womb.. Can't wait for this to continue next season..
