    ^ I certainly will! :)

I was uncertain between this, the Nokia N8 and one of the Android phones, but I decided to give the new Windows Phone 7 OS a go and see if I like it better than my old Symbian phone.

The movies arrived today. I can't wait to watch (hoping to pop Rope in tonight).

I wish i could borrow you for a week, just to help me find decent clothes. I could use your eye.

True story: I use to post daily on this other board ...everyone there knew i am not a 'clothes person'. They actually all submitted my name to one of those shows on tv where they make you over. I told them forget it, no way would i go on the show.

In other words.....i could seriously use your help.

Ah, but women's clothing is trickier than men's, because trends are much more prominent. Not to say that men's clothing doesn't move with trends, of course it does, but womenswear is so much more sensitive to it and it's much closer to the surface.

Relatively timeless smart men's tailored clothing, kept up to date with a few contemporary palette or fabric/textural choices, is not that difficult. The trends are easy to spot and incorporate in a subtle manner so you can retain your own identity easily.

Not so with ladies outfits! I do chat clothes with a couple of female friends but can't advise them beyond basic professional pieces. The rest requires a much broader awareness of what's on the market than I have!

Still, the core basic understanding of what silhouettes and palettes work well on you is something you can learn with experimentation. The simplest way is also the most time-consuming; go to lots of shops and try on everything. Look at it in the mirror with a critical eye, not so much as to whether you would buy that specific piece, but rather whether it flatters in terms of either silhouette or colour. Once you get the silhouette and colour relatively sorted, the rest slots in place much more easily.

I'm thinking of getting a new phone later this year, and will probably go with an HTC Windows Phone for it (I have an old HTC running an ancient version of Windows as it is, and if I'm happy with that, I should be happy with the newest versions of each). I'm waiting until they patch it to include cut-and-paste though. WTF is it with releasing OSs without such a basic functionality? Apple did the same thing too at first, didn't they? The context-sensitive menu shortcuts never cover all eventualities, and cut-and-paste is just so much more flexible.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing your review of the OS.

^ Yes, I am aware of that "little" overlook by M$, but I guess it has become fashionable to just throw a new OS out there as quickly as possible and then tweak it and tune it with the much dreaded "updates". What can you do, it's the call of money. ;)
I personally never used the cut-and-paste function before and I doubt I'll start using it now, so to me it was a non-existent issue, thankfully.

In any case, the update covering that and other minor nuisances is due for March, so there won't be long to wait.

Just purchased some downloadable digital art sheets for my jewelry making. :) I wish I was talented enough to make my own sheets.

Got the prints back from framing and hung them up. In the end I decided to put all three together, so the frame colours don't match exactly. But I think they still look better together than my initial plan of putting the Scout Trooper elsewhere.

Ever so slightly wonky, admittedly, but that's what you get trying to hang pictures without a plumb line or spirit level... :)

Apologies too for the dodgy photography!

I love how they turned out! They definitely belong together. But consider moving the one on the left (sorry, can't remember who that is) to the center; the colors might look more balanced. Homes should reflect the personality of the residents. It looks like you're doing an excellent job of that. :)

I got this picture of all my old roommates blown up into a 20 X 30in poster and had it framed.

Thanks! I have a few showers to go to and I thought this would be perfect. I'm not sure what shoes to wear, however.

Nice dress. The white panels are cute, and floral prints are going to be massive this year.

Pastels of most hues would work for shoes, so would neutrals including white, and even natural/light tan leather. To dress it up, something with a bit of heel or a bit wedge-y, perhaps even a little strappy though obviously nothing excessive.

Any highly-saturated colours would run the risk of looking like Dorothy in her blue dress and ruby slippers. Avoid these unless you really know what you're doing in terms of the hue you choose. And black shoes would just be gross.

Just a few thoughts off the top of my head. You'll have fun in that dress, I think.

I don't have any pastels or neutrals. I was thinking I'd do some sort of neutral just because I don't buy a lot of shoes and would want versatility, but I have no idea what would go with my skintone. I just feel like white shoes or even ranging to tan look odd on me.

A natural wood wedge or heel with an otherwise white (canvas or suede maybe?) shoe may be a reasonable solution to the above. The warmth the wood imparts would work nicely with your skin-tone IMO.

And natural wood just happens to be popular enough this year that you should be able to find a range of examples to try on and see what you think of it in the flesh. :)
