Analysts said they expect WP7 sales to build slowly as the holidays approach, especially with a record $500 million TV advertising campaign for the devices.
Analysts said they don't expect WP7 phone sales to ever have the major buzz that accompanies iPhone first-day sales, where hundreds of buyers line up outside of major Apple stores.
"I haven't seen any crowds lining up outside AT&T and T-Mobile stores, so it clearly is not a cultural event, but that only means that Microsoft has its work cut out for it re-entering an exceptionally competitive market," said Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis.

Thanks. Is the iPhone not more limited in ability to quickly open and compose emails? Is it not more difficult to type on a buttonless screen?
Also, can the iPhone easily sync up with a PC's MS Outlook? Or do you need to convert it to another format first?
A relative of mine who lives in England has been talking up the HTC Desire HD. The Desire is, I understand, essentially the Incredible, and lo and behold HTC is going to launch the Incredible HD here within two weeks.

The physical keyboard is really the only reason to recommend a BB at this stage in the game.
For the love of all that is good and holy, DO NOT get a Blackberry. We`re tied to these pieces of shit for work and they`re good for just about nothing. The browsing experience is terrible, the screen is tiny on most of them and it doesn`t sync with Thunderbird or anything else that isn`t Outlook.
With all the exciting new innovations coming down the pipeline now and over the next few months, choosing Blackberry is like declaring you hate better usability, more features and an enjoyable mobile experience.
I'm debating between an iPhone and Android right now...any suggestions? I'm looking mostly for something that will let me browse the web and do a little Twitter stuff...nothing too intense. I'm not planning to listen to music on it, though streaming Netflix might be good.
I get a discount through my employer for Sprint so I'm leaning that way...any compelling reason why I should pay a lot more in monthly data bills for ATT to get an iPhone?
