Sarah Jane Adventures: Series 4

just something I wanted to add, are we to understand there Sarah Jane leaves a key to a house full of alien tec, under her front door mat, in the most cliche place either, would think she would know better than that.

Why not believe it? We've seen it before, at least once in the first season, and again either in the second or third season.

just becasue Sarah Jane has done it before, does not make it right.

Believe me there is none of this lunacy in my house, I would never dream of doing that, and I have no alien tech to hide.

I do like the "perception filter" idea.

All that said, why does Sarah Jane need a spare key, given that she already has a device that can unlock any door the Sonic Lipstick?

Wonderful story that showed the strengths of both Clyde and Rani, both individually and working together. Of course, I loved the flirting between the two and I wonder if it will be taken any further than that on the show.

A few people have mentioned this before in the past, but I have to reiterate it: Wouldn't it be wonderful to have Clyde as a full time companion for The Doctor after he's done with Sarah Jane Adventures?

Great story although I think alluding to their repressed attraction only once in an episode is plenty, otherwise it gets a bit irritating.

Too pedestrian.

He caries the show.

Imagine this instead...

Clyde Langer: Agent of UNIT.

(Daniel Anthony? He's a backward C3PO?)

Imagine the (Stacy/Hepburn) friction if he's continually bumping heads with Rani who is following ion Sarah Janes Footsteps but as they're both trying to save the world at the same time in spite of each other?

Don't be silly. We can't be depicting sexuality on a children's show. ;)

The Empty Planet was fun. By far the best of this season: for once I didn't know what was going to happen immediately. Clyde and Rani really shined. (When are they getting together?)

I'm surprised by the amount of acclaim the Clyde character seems to get - not just here, but in other places as well. I don't watch SJA unless some bloke who's Doctor Who is in it (it's for the children, I thought), but from what I have seen, Clyde seems like a bit of a stupid smartarse twat. Why's he good?

^Having seen a handful of episodes, I can see the Clyde love. However, I can also see where the writers are keen to overdo it at times, making him a bit too "awesome". I imagine the actor could be a lot better with different material to work with. Imagine if he were on Doctor Who proper as a companion (naturally after he's grown up a little)? Might be worth it. He's gotten plenty of practice already...

As someone who watches the show all the time I don't quite see the Clyde = Awesome. Its a front, he really isn't that sure of himself. This isn't like Ten's aura of "Aren't I brilliant!" which hit a soft centre of "Aren't I brilliant!"

 Fair enough. I honestly haven't seen enough SJA to be able to dissect the character, as such. I guess it was the aftertaste of Ten that led me to the dislike of his cockiness sometimes. However, from what you say, it sounds like there's a lot more to Clyde than appears. Nice!
