What Star Trek episodes or films have you been watching lately?

I wasn't going to, but I've been watching random episodes of TOS-R (mostly my favorites), to kill time until Amazon sends my Smallville and Simpsons sets, so I can get caught up to speed on those shows.

As I continue working my way through TNG, I'm up to "Sarek" at some point today. Depending on various things, I may even get through "The Best of Both Worlds, Part I."

Our local CW station (WCWG 20 in Greensboro, NC) has been running TNG episodes in order. Friday night was "Best of Both Worlds, Part 2". Monday night should be "Family", hopefully. They air weeknights at 1 a.m., but I am known to be a night owl.

TNg - The Hunted. A fun episode. The tracking of Danar was exciting.

Silliness: Data tells Danar that he can't feel anything, but then later tells him that he enjoyed their conversation :wtf:

I've been watching TAS for the first time. I've been enjoying the campieness of it and there have been some interesting stories there too. Just saw "The Terratin Incident"

Well, today I am very annoyed at my local Trek station. For the new fall season TNG has been moved to 2 a.m. weeknights. This is too late for me. Perhaps it is finally time to get TNG on DVD. I have been avoiding it for some time. So far my collection includes all 11 movies, TOS-Remastered, TAS and Voyager. My next planned acquisition was Enterprise, but now I am unsure which should be next.

WGN America has move it to 4am EST. You got lucky... though I'm only missing seasons 6 and 7 on DVD.

Watched Mudd's Women and Miri on Blu-Ray last night. Watching in high-definition makes it feel like a brand new experience!

TNG The High Ground - I liked this one. It has some nice lines ("You should be drawing instead of killing people." "I can do both".)

It's a bit unfortunate to have two episodes in a row with aliens who look identical to humans, though.

Last Trek episode I saw was Best of Both Worlds part 1. I like the interaction between Riker and Shelby because they are opposites and yet compliment each other. I think Riker is so hostile towards her because she reminds him of something he's lost (or doesn't like about himself). The subplot about why Riker is seemingly subconsciously denying himself a command of his own was pretty well done to. Maybe its because he does not want to admit he is older and thinks that by remaining XO he can retain his youth.

Then there was the whole fighting the Borg aspect. It had the epic shoot out and Picard's "We have engaged the Borg" line was so intense and conveyed the seriousness of the situation. Picard and Guinan's talk about the end of humanity was very good. So much tension and suspense in this episode! Its one of those episodes that have you on the edge of your seat the whole time! No wonder they made a sequel to it in the movies.
This was such a great episode, agree? No?

Joel had to make sure he wasn't breaking any forum rules by posting twice in a row; actually, I believe it's more than twice in a row, IIRC.

Anywho, I recently watched 'When the Bough Breaks.' (Hmmm, I counted this as a 'favorite' episode for some time).

Now, some will take the easy way out and claim this is because the show was in it's first season; but this is something that will happen more frequently in other seasons...and the movie 'Insurrection.'

Here we have a society that is not multi-racial, and even the children that are 'abducted' are not multi-racial... Actually, in the entire episode, Geordi is the only one of color (with that damn band over his eyes)...and maybe Worf (who is under make-up with a big turtle shell on his head)...

It's Star Trek: The Next Generation...not Star Trek: Aryan Nation, dammit..!

But, uhm, yeah...

Not a very Roddenberry-esque episode, and he was alive and well during this time...(or at least 'alive' during this time, I don't know about 'well').

Shame...shame...

Indeed, the bough has broken indeed, since this is not one of Joel's favorite episodes anymore.:weep::thumbdown:

SIDENOTE: The actress who portrays Rashella slightly resembles a girl I used to know some years back.

I'm watching the Special Longer Version VHS tape of TMP. I appreciate the artistry of this film, but this is still God-awful boring. I'd much rather be watching an episode of TOS--any episode!

TNG Déjà Q, A Matter of Perspective and Yesterday's Enterprise.

I liked all of them, especially (surprise...) Yesterday's Enterprise. I particularly liked the music.
