How the Gorn would have looked in Star Trek!

So what do you think, the best of all the version or no?

It sucks. Doesn't look anything like a Gorn. It has human eyes, for one thing!

We don't know if the makeup is complete yet, or if they were to be CGIed in, OR if they just didn't need to put them in because it was a background extra.

Yeah, judging by the rough look of the area around the eyes, I would say that the make-up is incomplete. CGI is a possibility, too, but I think it's likely that they were just going to put some wide lenses, hopefully made to looks like insect eyes.

That said, I like the shape of the head, but he needs more of a snout.

Now that I look at it better, it seems like he has a scar on his face from the upper lip to the right eyebrow bone protrusion, so maybe he was supposed to wear some sort of eyepach to cover his eye. Too bad the picture doesn't show the other one!

It doesn't really look like a Gorn - it needs a snout and the teeth are wrong - but it looks cool.

It's better than the CGI crap in "Enterprise", but I also think it looks too Jem'Hadar-ish.

Yeah, the CGI brought it down a bit. I like the real stuff better sometimes. But Enterprise's design wasn't terrible. It was a little bit too dinosaur-like though.

Ya let's humanize the Gorn by removing the snouts and giving them human looking eyes. Say what you want about that underwhelming CGI Gorn from Enterprise, at least they tried making it look Alien and not human. Best looking Gorn? He can't even move his bloody mouth.

And this is the finished product. He's on the Rura Penthe set all dressed up.

Heck, it's probably not even a Gorn. If you read the artbook, there is a sketch of this very creature that reads "This alien was inspired by the Gorn from the original series". So you see? They don't use the aliens from Star Trek, they pay homage to them.....in Star Trek. Makes perfect sense.

Just ignore him. He's the type of person who'll use any insignificant factoid to base his complains on about a movie that doesn't fit his personal view of ST, because he certainly can't complain about how successful the movie actually was. The last thing he was bitching about was the red ball that made up the Red Matter as being a staple of Abrams' films. As if anyone cared about that.
