Those of you who see me at GB as well as here...

Yeah, but if he goes they all have to. George Galloway, Ben Elton, Dappy from N-Dubz, Russell Howard...I couldn't get away with it.

You have to start somewhere. I say start with Justin Lee Collins. We'll all give you character references in court.

Can we include Michael McIntyre on the first-against-the-wall-when-the-revolution-comes list as well?

Mike Giggler? Yes please, if only because it'd be interesting to see if he keeps laughing at his own jokes when the firing squad presents arms.

Met JLC at the bar at a Sky1 season launch once, and realised I was a coward/nice guy because I avoided saying how much I loathed his onscreen persona.
(Later on, the same thing happened with Noel Edmonds. But he did Swap Shop, so he's forgiven anything else!)

How on earth would the firing squad even hit McIntyre? He never stops bloody moving!!

so diankra, is JLC less annoying in the flesh as it were?

I think McIntyre's annoying but he does make me chuckle on occasion. He shouldn't be on the same page of the hit list that JLC is on.

Much like Will Ferrell he's funny in small doses. So fronting Live from the Apollo or the Michael McIntryre show, but I don't know if I could watch an entire stand up routine without going insane...

It took about 30 seconds of him on Top Gear for me to have to change channels - the *only* time I've ever done that with Top Gear.

Ironically, he has apparently been mistaken for me on at least one occassion, though we don't look alike or anything, by a hotel manager who'd search on the internet and told him he can fix his own TV (when he complained about the one in his room)...

I find Alex Zane to be far more insufferable than Justin Lee Collins. JLC is just unfunny and annoying but his enthusiasm often rings true whereas Zane is just intoxicatingly false in everything he does.

Every time I see a GB Admin/mod or the founder wade into a topic waving the rules around, I often think "Seig Heil".....:(

There's something fairly Stalin-esque about the way they're retconning/revising my time on there to fit their interests. I knew they were sensitive but I never thought they were so malicious.

I'm really gutted that the banter I enjoyed with posters I knew over the 5 years of OG/GB have now ended abruptly and for no justified reason. All my requests for information on why I was banned and attempts at diplomacy have been ignored entirely.

I just been reading on GB a topic where someone tried to post a link to the American trailer for the new series, ans UberFuhrer Hill posted afterwards "Read the Forum Rules and obey!"

Jesus...I almost saluted in the style of a Nazi...:(

How funny this thread would be resurrected today; I ran into one of GB's mods after lunch.

Gallifrey Base has a definite antipathy toward YouTube videos of any kind. It borders on the ludicrous at times; I've seen people warned in the Music subforum for linking to a band's official YouTube channel.

At times, I think GB's official motto is "There's no 'fun' in 'fandom.'" *shrug*

What on earth do they have against YouTube? :wtf:
The mods of GB believe that YouTube is a wretched hive of piracy and copyright violation and that they are liable for any links from the forum to copyrighted material there. The belief seems to be that if they take a hard stance on copyright, then the BBC will suffer GB to live. Or something like that. They really want to be the official discussion forum for Doctor Who, but some of their policies make that difficult.

Being in America, unlikely to be the one of whom I'd say "give him a kick in the nuts from me"
It was Arnold Blumberg I ran into. I've always found him to be polite and sensible.

OG was a blip on my radar. I visited there a couple of times. Started the whole 'Motivational Doctor Who Poster' trend (which I'm surprised continues to pop up over at GB), and that's about it. I stopped by GB a couple of times. OG-lite, is what it felt like. Basically a lot of kids running around freaking-OUT about a television show. Not enjoying it, or discussing. Just freaking out. Upset. Wild. Frenzied in their pathological need to 're-claim' the show as 'theirs'.

In the end, I'll stick with this place. The only thing I dislike about this place is merely a side-effect of my geographical location. I am very left-behind many discussion when it veers into British culture, and I don't even recognize a single name brought up in this thread (except for McIntee...'Dark Path' is tha' bomb-yo!).

Other than that, it's a nice place to observe people discussing Doctor Who, and to throw out a random thought every now and then. Also, this is where Guy Gardener posts. His posts are EPIC, wouldn't you say wamdue?
