I've mentioned this before but it does not surprise me, similar thing happened to me. I was once banned from Outpost Gallifrey after saying:
"People who use the word 'squee' need to be bundled into vans. At night. And dumped in the north sea."
It was in a thread about the word "squee", not a random outburst at anyone in particular. I was harangued by a few mods for "threatening" people with the fate I described, as if I was being serious and had the means/will to carry it out, with no hint of irony. Couldn't quite believe it. I mean, surely nobody - unless they're severely autistic or mentally disturbed or something - would actually think that this off the cuff remark was a genuine threat to kidnap someone in a Ford Transit and drown them off the coast of Aberdeenshire.
I got banned because I refused to apologise for the remark, or rather their interpretation of it. In one mod's words - "Stop trying to defend the indefensible and apologise. Now." Naturally, did I hell. A few days later an admin emailed me, can't remember the name, but he reinstated my account with an apology. To his credit he agreed it was completely stupid and conceded that they were probably looking for an excuse to be a prick to someone, said he'd "have a few words" and that was the end of the matter. Have barely even looked at the place since. The mods are idiots and most of the regular posters there are a bunch of whining, over-sensitive, sycophantic cunts.
Probably the most bizarre forum episode of my entire life. Makes TrekBBS mods seem almost sane in comparison. :P
(incidentally, anyone using the word "squeeeeee!" deserves to be shot in the face)
