Season 5 stars on BBC America April 17

Two weeks is reasonable, and is the same amount of time BBC America and Space waited to show Children of Earth.

I would imagine Space will probably air it on April 17 as well. After all, Space and BBC America aired Children of Earth, Planet of the Dead, Waters of Mars, and The End of Time Part 2 on the same days.

That's my thought as well. The folks at Space aren't dumb (no comment on the CBC). They realize that if they don't show the thing close to when BBC America, at least, airs it, that most of its demographic will download the episodes, let's not mince words. Plus, Space has made a deal with 2 Entertain to include promotional stickers on recent DVD and Blu-Ray releases. This is a big deal in terms of advertising, and in the past when there's been a huge lag time, on occasion DVD releases have had to be delayed in Canada. So people just ordered from the US (happened with one of the Torchwood seasons and at least two Doctor Who seasons). When the CBC delayed broadcasting Season 2's finale (due to a rather boneheaded decision to insert a mid-season hiatus) the DVD set actually came out in Canada a week before Doomsday aired, and a lot of people bought, or rented, the set. And Doomsdays ratings did take a bit of a hit.

This could all be moot, of course, if Space decides not to show the thing right away! Hopefully they'll confirm a date soon.

Great news. Really glad we have a start date in the US. 2 weeks isn't that bad. Looking forward to it.
 
This is good news for Canadians as well and I agree that Space will most likely show it on that date or shortly around it.
 
WOO! For the first time in my life I will get to see Doctor Who "live"! I just got BBC America. :D
 
Two weeks? TWO FUCKING WEEKS?!?!

THEY MIGHT AS WELL NOT SHOW IT AT ALL!!!!1¡¡exclamation :mad: :( :wah:

I'll be watching it on BBC America, but I'll also be watching it online as soon as it's up there. Latter I will buy the DvDs.

Yeah, I have a feeling that will be the case for me too...I'll definitely watch it on BBCA...if I can get the missus to admit that the show didn't end with David Tennant's departure... :)
 
Even if I did have BBCA, I don't think I'd be able to wait two weeks anyway.


Sigh, computers are such wonderful things... ;)
 
I only just found out it's starting here on April 2nd. Still a month and a week away :(.
