Not quite ballsy given that he'll be back on board in an episode or two.

My respect and liking for Young has gone down a lot. In fact a series where most of the characters are already unlikeable has just made two of them even more so.

I just watched the episode, I think Young is a horrible person to be in charge, I don't know why Jack wants him in charge. While Rush is a bastard for sure, I really don't blame him for what he did to get Young out of the way. I think the lady should have remained in charge, it looked like things were finally starting to get done like studying the chair. I think Rush should be in charge of his science team, a lot more would get done.

It is obvious Rush will get the alien ship working to get back to Destiny. It does look like an Ancient shuttle a little bit, but they made a point to say in context that it does not look like any form of Ancient design, so it probably really is alien. Look forward to more about that.

Overall, this episode was rather boring, up until the end. I was extremely bored with the whole court room thing, it is so cliche now, and no where matched up with what BSG did with the whole court scene. They tried, but not hard enough.

This was a slow episode, and I'm still waiting for some action or something to happen, while I can appreciate a slow build up, it seems like nothing is happening and no progress is being made, despite the fact we are half way through the first season.

It is hard to grade this one, I guess I'm going with Average for now.

I felt that Young leaving Rush on the plant was out of character. I can see him beating him up, but not actually leaving him behind.

Still I did enjoy the episode, and while it was a bit contrived, it was a good cliffhanger.

The episode sucked. The show generally sucks. It's sucked since Episode 1.
There are probably better things to do on a Friday night than repeatedly watching a show you don't like.

I work late Friday nights. I'm rarely ever free in my line of work during the months of November and December. There's this new technology called--get this--DVR! It allows me to record TV programs and then watch them whenever free time arises. In my case, I generally watch the show during house cleaning in the morning. While I miss parts, scan past other melodramatic parts, the 30-or-so minutes I do happen to catch usually suck. Except for the "Discovery" skipping through the atmosphere of that gas giant and it's subsequent cruise through the corona of the nearby star, most everything about this show has sucked.

Overall, I give this one a 7. I really didn't see the ending coming though, wow. I wonder how Rush is going to get out of this one! (Aside from the strange alien spaceship).

Okay, scratch out "Friday night" and write something else. His point was very clearly that if you don't like the show don't watch it. And you seem to really hate it, so stop watching it. There's no point watching a show that makes you angry.

And no, I'm not a fan of the show who is getting pissed at you for insulting it. I hate Stargate Universe and I stopped watching it immediately after "Life" because I realized it clearly isn't for me.

IMO, a better result would have been if Rush really did kill that guy, and that would be a perfect reason for Young to leave him there. That IMO would give this show the nuBSG'esque realism they are trying to shoot here for, but falling short of.

Rush murdering a guy in a half-baked attempt to get rid of Young sounds realistic to you? If anything, the writers have been jumping through hoops since the very beginning to make Rush into an evil character.

I agree. It was out of character. I expected him to be carrying Rush over his shoulder when he came back through the gate - then locked him in his room.

My theory is, if you liked Stargate, and you don't like Universe, you can whine about it all you want since they stamped the Stargate brand on it.

That's my get out of jail free card for bashing Voy and Ent anyway :)

Yeah, but then I'd have to watch the show to have some material with which to bash it. As fun as bashing can be, the price is too painful to pay. Although it is tempting... ;)

So Rush saying "it'll never be over between us" gives a man a reason to basically commit murder. Riiiiight. Sounds like DWF logic

I expected him to be carrying Rush over his shoulder...
Maybe he was, then he realized that he wasn't going to make it to the gate in time. :p

Nah, once Rush said it'd never be over between them Rush had little choice but to leave him. He could I suppose have taken him back Destiny and locked him but Rush would get out eventually.

And then what? framed Young the next time someone committed suicide?

Young seemed surprised Rush put up as much fight as he did. They punched each other a few times and for Young that would have probably been the end of it. You know those military type guys; how an argument that can't be resolved with words becomes physical and then the two parties move on afterward. Young tried that approach with Rush when he asked if they "were done now." When Rush told him they would "never be done" Young head butted him one more time and came to the conclusion that Rush is too much of a liability to the safety of his crew. Young realized that Rush would always try to undermine him. So he got rid of the problem. For now. Should be interesting when Rush comes back.

It's not my logic at all it's Young's logic and if Young was found guilty of murder what would they have done ot him? For that matter what would Rush do once he got back onboard the ship? He'd keep trying to get rid of Young.

So I guess in you mind it was OK for Rush to frame Young for a murder he didn't commit? For that matter Rush lied to the crew last week. And I still think he tipped off the Lucain Alliance to the Icarus base and what was going on there.

Bottom line is that Young didn't want somebody getting hurt or dying by sitting in that chair, Rush needed Young ot of the way to make somebody else sit in the chair.

I really like the episode. I too felt that it tried to do too much in one episode, but it still worked out in the end. And the ending itself was a bit of a shocker to me!

Further, in the last seen with Young and Eli:
Young: The rest of the Kino footage?
Eli: Even Scott didn't see it.
Young: I want you to make a copy of it for me and delete it from your hard drive.

What's that all about? I guess the file wasn't corrupted in the transfer, so what did it show that only Young and Eli know about? Eli looked really conflicted about something.

So you don't actually watch the show, you just sort of skim it? And not only that, you keep doing it week after week after week. That sounds pretty insane to me. :wtf:

Rush taking the gun after the suicide. It would basically cast doubt on Young's story about what happened to Rush on the planet.
