I suspect though that we won't be seeing Rush return to the Destiny until the two part season finale.

Judging from some of the spoiler material out there for the back half of the season, Rush will be back on the ship much sooner than the season ender.

Something else to mention, apparently the next two episodes are a two-parter. Originally, "Justice" was not suppose to be the midseason finale. "Space" was. "Darkness" and "Light" were originally one episode, but were later split, shifting the episode order.

While most of the characters just assumed that a lack of a gun a the scene meant that someone else killed him, I actually thought that maybe he really did commit suicide, and that someone just moved the gun. And I considered this even before they found the gun in Young's quarters.

I also realized that the corrupted video excuse was BS, and after that I knew Young was going to have it out with Rush after he asked the others to head back to the gate. I even predicted Young stranding Rush.

While some of it was predictable to me, I still enjoyed it. 8 Chevrons.

Did that pod look like the one which detached from Destiny in an earlier episode?

(If not the same unit, then maybe the same type.)
It looked like one of the Destiny's shuttles from what little I saw.

Well, one of the science geeks said it didn't look Ancient, which discounts that possibility.

However, I do think it is the very same vessel we saw detaching from Destiny before.

I got to thinking...The problem with fingerprints was not necessarily their lack of technology onboard (if they had a few suspects, how hard is it to dust with graphite from a pencil and compare prints with a magnifying glass) - rather, the main problem is that they apparently pull their guns from a common armory, so most guns would have multiple sets of prints on them, unless the armorer is a stickler for wiping them down every time he takes them in.

I liked this episode! I agree with the people who thinks Rush will be back later on. He's an interesting character and they do need him, even though he can't really be trusted.

Young seems a bit unstable - his actions makes me wonder what else he's capable of.

It was nice to see Chloe useful for once. I hope they'll keep giving her meaningful tasks in future episodes.

And I guess they'll just have to find the right way to use the chair without harming people. It will be a long wait until April.

Does anyone honestly think Rush won't be back soon? He's the top-billed actor of the series!

I don't. I think he'll be back on the ship within the next two episodes and we'll have multiple scenes showing him attempting to get back.

He can still be on the show but not on the ship. It's going to take him a while just to get inside the craft they found, let alone find food and water while he tries to repair it and figure out how to fly. He's basically potential for a long term B story all his own.

Shows have split the cast up before. The most notable example I can think of is Farscape when two John Crichtons were created. Aeryn, Talyn and Crais went off on one, while most of the rest of the crew was still onboard Moya. Lasted, what, half a season like that?

That was Farscape (which still, through Sci-fi trickery, managed to keep its lead character with both groups at the same time). I'm not convinced Stargate Universe will do something as risky as that. I'm willing to be that Carlyle meets up with them by the end of the next two-parter, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Ok... so next episode... in his new situation Rush realizes he's running out of AIR! He'll fix the miniship's oxygen scrubbers but realize on this desolate world there is no WATER! And I can't wait till he takes a solo jaunt through TIME travel.

Which brings up another point. Rush is on his own. He has nobody else to interact with. Helo had Athena to interact with on Battlestar Galactica. Farscape split its crew up evenly. I don't see this group of writers sustaining Rush on his own for more than a couple episodes.

The ending was a little dark, I suppose it fits in with the series but I wasn't keen.

I figured since it was slow and no one started threads I would just make one for everything instead of wasting 2 threads.

Thanks for handling the thread, I was out of town this weekend, couldn't get to a computer to post them.

They didn't cop out on who framed Young. The easy outs were the guy who uses the chair and Wray, but they chose Dr. Smith/Baltar instead.

Actually with the dead wife as well as how he is an uber-bastard I see Rush as more like Gendo Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Great, so when is Eli going to have to pilot the ancient humanoid robot with great angst?

I rather think he has more in common with Avon from 'Blake's 7', but that's just me.

Definately!

When the giant mosters show up obviously.

Though if the did this at least people will stop saying SGU is a NuBSG clone. Mostly becuase they may wish it still was a NuBSG clone as NuBSG would never mind F&@k them like Evangelion would.

The episode sucked. The show generally sucks. It's sucked since Episode 1.

Use stones; switch brains with good writers. Problem solved.

Leave then seriously if I watched a new show that I hated it would take me less than 10 episodes to pack it in...but then again I am one of those normal people that you hear about in society
