Capt. Robau reminds me of Capt. Terrell from TWOK. Except Terrell got far more screen time.

Robau is going to get at least one or two Pocket Books novels predating 2233. You just watch.

Exactly. To deny the universe of having Robau is a cryin' shame.

Just so long as they have him deciding to ignore his mother's wish that she'd married a Frenchman and start to use his middle name instead... ;)

But we'll get to find out WHY he's bald! The backstory to why he decided at one point in his life to be MORE than just slightly badass. He sought to be One with Cosmic Badassitude.

Considering Pocket Books took a random extra from the DS9 episode Rapture and made him an integral character in the DS9 post-finale novels, I expect nothing less than an entire novel series based around Robau.

Captain Robau is popular for several reasons:
    1. HOT HOT HOT! Many gals (and guys) here think Capt. Robau is a delicious treat of a Federation Commander.
    2. He's incredibly calm cool and competent In a crisis. He gave precise instructions to Lt. Kirk on what to do once he saw that the Kelvin would not survive.
    3. Sacrificed his life for his crew to survive.
    4. He's a bad@$$ who stares Nero down till the end!
    5. He is HOT!
    6. HE FOUGHT THE NARADA WITH ONE NACELLE!!!!!

I could go on for days... but in one sentence: he was a great commander that helped his crew to survive in the face of impossible odds.. with one nacelle! Quiver ladies (and gents) QUIVER!

    1. He is one of the few non-white captains we have seen.
    2. He has a cool accent.
    3. He passes the Kobayashi Maru. He remains calm and collected under stressful battle conditions and maintains control of the situation and his crew. He goes over to the Narada knowing he faces certain death or capture.
    4. He is not intimidated by the Romulans. Ayel asks him if he's seen the Jellyfish and Robau completely ignores the question and demands to know who the captain is. He questions Nero's authority: "Then ask Captain Nero, what gives him the right to attack a federation vessel."
    5. Because of the above, this is clear empirical evidence that Robau is awesome and badass.

Robau showed an intensity, poise and gravitas that distinguishes him from any other Starfleet captain we've seen thus far. He exuded authority and courage, in spite of his fear.

I thought he was excellent starfleet captain material- more than a match for any Klingon commander. Unfortunately not a match for Nero's rage.

It would be hilarious to replace Captain Terrell's dialogue to Khan for Captain Robau to Nero in Trek XI, as they are both unfortunate Starfleet captains meeting villains that are rather out of time and looking for vengence against either Kirk or Spock for a death of a wife.

Robau: "Lt. Kirk who is this man?"

George Kirk: "Criminal Captain, product of late 24th century Romulan skilled labor workforce"

Robau: "What do you want with us? Sir I demand to be re-..."

Nero: "Save your strength captain, these people have sworn to live and die at my command 129 years from now..."

Robau: "Listen to me--you men and women--you haven't.."

Robau: "I've never even met commander Spock".

    Nero: "Commander Spock!?, commander..."

    Robau: "No! No! No...arrrhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

Robau is so badass, the 1980 Pittsburgh Steelers studied him before each and every game.

He is so popular because we know what Robau would do to us if his popularity declined.
