Major League Baseball 2009

I've got a terrible feeling about the Tigers. With how they've been playing, I really don't see them winning the division. Minnesota is playing way better than they are right now. I still want to see Detroit win, but I'm not sure they will.

V-Mart just hit his first career grand slam off his former team in Fenway Park. That could come in handy next week.

That was quite a catch that Span the Man made...

I'm rooting for the Twins in this series so they can make the ALDS and consequently get their asses kicked. (Ideally by us.) Plus they deserve a bit of a break for having to play in the Metrodump for so long. ;)

You don't realize how much I would pay to see Carl Pavano win a clinching game in that PO series...

^ Yeah, well, I say BRING IT! We're better off without the little bastard anyway, I mean it'd save time to list the injuries that he hasn't had. He treated his teammates like crap. Good riddance.

And Dusty Brown crushes his first homer (and hit) in the majors.

Sox are looking alive again after a pretty flat performance last week.

This Detroit Minnesota thing is pretty fun. I really don't care who finally wins out.

Anyway, it's time for the Angels to get serious and finally beat the Red Sox.

I'm ready to believe!

They get serious every year...and STILL can't beat the Red Sox.:p

Wally the Green Monster has been eating the rally monkey for years...he likes it lightly seasoned.

The Jays have finally fired J.P. Ricciardi!

It took them long enough!

Though I'm not thrilled about the choice for the new GM.

I hate the Red Sox so much....

:scream:

Join the club, except I live 20 miles from Boston.

For all the complaints that there hasn't been any pennant race drama, you had the NL wild card race going on until about the beginning of this week, plus divisional races in the AL Central and NL West.

Someone always gets hot at the end and makes it interesting.

I've heard so many ridiculous, gimmicky ideas for expanding the playoff so there would be 'more meaningful baseball in September.' Don't fix what ain't broke. You'll end up with less meaning in the regular season and a playoff system that last 2.5 months like the NBA.

Glad the Packer/Viking game is on Monday so I can watch the Twins without having to flip channels.

Hard to believe that the Twins, who were 7 games out less than a month ago, are now tied for the division lead. Micheal Cuddyer has been on a tear lately (hope saying that doesn't jinx him).

I'm a little woried about Pavano pitching on just 3 days of rest (Blackburn did yesterday, but he's done that quite a bit). I'm not sure Pavano has the stamina to last long on a short rest and I'm a little leary of the Twins' bullpen.

Go Twins!!

Awesome! Go Rockies! :techman: At least one of my teams has a post season this year.

Glad the Mets are done. What an awful season. And it started off so promising...stupid injuries.

And the Nationals are just about done. They're in extra innings with the Braves right now. It would be nice if they ended their season with a seven game winning streak!

Jed Lowrie hits his first career grand slam in a 12-7 rout of the Indians.

Now what to do with Buchholz? He's been getting smoked his last two starts. I almost think Tito should take a chance with Dice-K for the third starter and bump Buchholz to the fourth spot, hoping that he wouldn't be used in the ALDS.

Tie-breaker on Tuesday to decide the winner of the AL Central. At least this year the Twins will be at home. I've been trying to get tickets, but I've been stuck in the website's "virtual waiting room" for quite some time.
