Are you enjoying the race Peg? The Twins are on a serious tear right now, sweeping Chicago in Chicago. I feel worried about the Tigers chances. Minnesota seems to want it a little bit more.

I'm loving it. The Twins have been playing great lately. I'm a little worried about their upcoming series against Kansas City: The Royals have been hot and seem to be relishing their role as spoiler. I just hope the Twins don't look past them and think only of their upcoming series against Detroit.

Joe Nathan has been kind of scary lately. He still usually gets the save, but I liked it better when bringing him in was almost a gimmie win.

The weekend series for both teams are huge. The Royals and White Sox aren't about to just roll over for anyone. We easily could be looking at a tie at the top of the division going into Monday's series in Detroit.

It's definitely an exciting time of the year. Minnesota and Detroit aren't exactly big market teams, but it's not like this season is totally devoid of drama down the stretch.

Yay Nats! 100 losses. :p Sigh. :(

Do I even want to know what the Mets' W/L column looks like?

Well, at least they are still in the double digits in L's.

And sadly, there's not enough games left for them to finish September strong for once and hit the magic century mark.

So is your Mr. Met still sniffing glue, or has he moved on to something stronger? :p

Screech is officially AA material.

Now granted, Reds vs. Pirates isn't exactly a hot ticket, because the G-20 summit shut down A LOT of downtown traffic and closed businesses, only about 3000 spectators were at the game Thursday.

But when these same two teams were in Cincinnati on Aug. 31, there were only 1000 fans at the first game of a day-night double header!

Well, so far John Lester is pitching like Paul Byrd at seldom-full New Yankee Stadium.

Well looks like Lester may be done for the rest of the year after a bullet to the leg. hopefully the guy does alright

Ugh. I'm sure he'll be all right, but the question is when. Fortunately the Sox have enough depth in their rotation that all is not lost even if Lester is DL'ed for the post-season.

Now we'll see if Joba pitches anyone high and inside.

The Red Sox are fucked. I never saw them making it to the WS this year, and so far they still aren't good enough.

Way to go Joba!!!! :techman:
Shouldn't you be congratulating Melky for possibly ending Lester's season?

Now why the hell would you think I'd do that? :(

Look, I'm the furthest thing from a Sox fan, but I don't want *anyone* getting hurt, not even your guys. How sadistic do you think I am anyway? Would you cheer if one of our guys got hurt? No? Then try to cut ME some slack, ok?

Geez. If you think I'd cheer a Sox player getting creamed, then you really don't know me at all. I mean, I've done my share of "Boston Sucks!" in the bleachers, but nobody wants this. :(
