Yeah, but they do so by prevarication, not outright lying. Well, unless they actually have lied. Edit to add: In other words, if they were going to lie about that, why would they go to such lengths to avoid lying in other instances? Seems to me they don't want to directly lie to him.

Oh, and Koizumi fully believes himself to be a creation of Haruhi, so it would go to follow that the other two could be as well.

He believes his powers were a creation of Haruhi. I don't think he's ever indicated that he believes he himself is a creation of Haruhi, has he? Edit to add: Duh! Of course he has. Nevermind.

They need to end this arc.

I figure the next episode is the last one though? I'm not sure how I want them to end it though... I almost want to be banal, just because it would piss off a lot of people expecting some kind of huge plot payoff... but I also want some kind of huge plot payoff myself.

Oh well, the first episode of the new Wolf & Spice season makes up for it, with Horo and Lawrence on excellent form.

well, if it was anyone other than KyoAni I would be throwing a fit by now. But since I'm a hopeless Haurhi/KyoAni fanboy, they've got me by the balls here

I do see where alot of the frustration is coming from. There are ALOT of people who have been waiting for this show since the summer of 2006 (myself included) and so expectations were very very high. So high in fact, that I never expected the second season to meet them.

I only hope that this is some game that they are playing and that Sighs and Disappearance get their own individual seasons sometime soon.

I love the way Forward Time travel was dealt with, I hate that no other Sci-fi series have used the whole "Just sleep it off if you are trapped in the past" approach.

I think a lot of it comes from people who read the light novel and see how the problem was originally resolved. I think it works very well for what it is, especially since it's television and hasn't been done before (as far as I know), but I can understand why people are frustrated.

Also, yeah. I loved the time freeze bit. I'm pretty sure in S1 that the room is referred to by Kyon, but sort of dismissed as an oddity.

Tut-tut. On a Star Trek message board no less. A TNG episode did it. Think it was called Cause and Effect. It was much more successful though, in my view, because each time through the loop the characters seemed to make real progress in realising there was a problem and eventually working towards a solution. Here it just seems like repetition for the sake of it. There's almost no difference from one episode to the next and no sense at all of the characters making any progress. What I'm afraid of is it will keep looping until the actual end of August comes round.

I know there was a show called Daybreak or something, but the whole idea of the show was that every episode was a loop... but this is just a normal show without a "gimmick".
I mean, this COULD be an arc on Lost, but the dudes on Lost would never have the balls to do something that would clearly frustrate the audience.

Although, I think I just enjoy how pretentious this all is... given that I'm the only one who seems to enjoy it.

I have to admit, I can see the amusing side, but still, I'd rather not have half the season spent on a single episode. There's a lot of material that could be used, and there's never any guarantee of further seasons, but no point harping on about it I suppose.

I guess one way to look at it that maybe it's possible that KyoAni will be able to do a third season sooner?

I've got to admit it's getting damn annoying as well, but still I'm interested to learn how it turns out.

Also yeah, yay for a new Spice and Wolf season.

There's also a plothera of other interesting shows to check out this season like Bakemonogatari, Kanaan, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and Umeneko no Naku Koroni.

Yeah, theres definitely no shortage of new stuff to watch. Unfortunately I'm going to be moving to Georgia for 6 months for Army stuff so I wont have time for anime for a while

So....I'm going to have to try out a new tactic for this season and try watching everything in one giant lump when the season ends

I usually just end with a backlog if I do that. Luckily I'm almost done whittling away at it.

Just finished Lyrical Nanoha: Strikers and all that's left is Toradora.

Hee, another time loop in this episode. But I loved that they ratcheted up the tension by having multiple loops right at the end, only to build up to yet another anti-climatic ending.

Troll or not, this is sheer genius. Bravo.

On a serious note though, this really is the only way that the show could effectively put you into Nagato's head. It's one thing to just say there's been 15,551 time loops... it's another thing to live through 8 or so of them yourself.

Indeed. I think there is little doubt that this is the single most creative way ever invented to make you feel the pain of the characters you are watching
