It's still stupid fun. I have faith simply because it's an adaptation... so it won't turn out that Nagato is actually an angel or that Kyon has four toes.

I kind of hope that the story behind this whole arc comes out in some form that I can consume. There was that bit by the dude who quit/was fired that came out of a con recently (but hey, he did Kannagi, so I can't really complain), but official word from KyoAni or Kodokawa would be amusing.

Yay, it's over. So that leaves a whole three or four episodes, not counting reruns?

I get the feeling that they will have a surprise in store for us.
Like a haruhi movie or new season or something like that. Remember, what we have right now isn't really being considered a new season but additional episodes attached to the first.
Or it could all be wishful thinking on my part But hey, I was right about getting new episodes during these re-runs and I was right about there being a new announcement at the end of haruhi-chan so maybe I can be right a third time

It'd be 5 in that case because of Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody in addition to the endless eight. Even with a 14 episode season over half of it would have been taken up by that episode. Bizarre.

That would be my guess, but I hope you're right.
Something that's interesting is that about two years ago there were pictures released for the new season (they were those pictures of haruhi with the long hair), but then something happened and they stated that they were redoing everything and starting from scratch. It makes me wonder if they decided to redo everything in order to give us endless eight. I suppose we will never really know since Japanese companies are known to keep a tight lid on things like this

I managed to miss all that somehow. Strange goings-on. Someone prone to conspiracy theories might wonder whether aliens, time travellers and ESPers are interfering. 
Clearly someone didn't want it to happen, so they experienced their own loop.

I think they have 2 left in this arc and then there were four episodes from S1 left to air?
I suppose one can hope that S3 or whatever they call it will air soon. I really hope they do something else equally insane, but I have no idea what they can do to mess with the format. Maybe hire completely different voice actors for a single episode or something.

So apparently it's over now that the last part of Sigh of Haruhi Suzimiya has aired.
Hopefully doubt we'll get any more new ones, but I wouldn't eliminate the possibility entirely. Guess we'll find out Thursday/Early Friday.
Overall, this season wasn't as good as the first, mostly because of "the endless bait" but still pretty good overall.

I haven't watched the last two episodes yet, but I think it's a bit difficult to say which season is better. I suppose I have the "advantage" of watching them close to each other though, so that might influence my perspective.
I think they needed something to outdo what they did in the first season and they certainly did it.
