Langara?

Hey, all.

Okay... I'd like a little help here... I am not a big SG-1 fan, but I REALLY liked the episodes with Thor... I'm a big Asgard fan.

Anyway... once, i was watching an SG-1 episode, and I don't remember much, except for a few things that REALLY stood out in my mind. They are:

- The world had buildings of brick and stone, and the towns looked kinda small.

- The military uniforms and rifles were black, and looked as modern as ours, as did their daily tech, like pencils, paper, etc.

- There was a scene where the SG-1 people are talking to a pair of this world's military men... one seated, the other standing, with a flag (?) behind the desk.

- I vividly remember seeing hot-air balloons in the skies of this world.

If anybody can clue me in on an episode name, or even provide some big screencaps of the balloons, or the uniforms, that would be great. Thanks, in advance.

It is Jonas's world, he is from the nation of Kelowna on the planet Langara. Has nothing to do with the Asgard. His world was occupied by Goa'uld long ago because of rich deposits of Naquadriah. Their tech level seemed very 40-50'ish to me.

^Yes, although it was more advanced than we were in the 1950's in some areas and less advanced in others.

However, the planet BolianAdmiral describes sounds more like M4D-058 from Atlantis' The Game.

In this episode, McKay and Sheppard discover that a Civilisation-type "simulation" they've been playing is actually real. There is some discussion over the fact that McKay had been artificially enhancing his people's technological capability, including hot air balloons, while Sheppard had been developing his people's military.

I don't recall balloons over Jonas' city...The SG1 eppy I thought of when reading Bolian's description was s8's 'Icon', where Daniel was injured on thge planet Tegalus, and had to be saved by Sam and Teal'c.

Weren't there airships in Past and Present (3x11)? I thought there was one city shot that showed them.
