Exactly. I thought I heard a rumor that this was the case anyway. I hope one thing that gets decanonized are lamenting monologues on the woes of introducing female yeomen. It seems certain that an Uhura that shrinks with fear is fortunately a thing of the past. Watching TOS now realizes just how much a product of its time it was with regard to gender and racial politics. How many times were women written as stereotypes or Spock being ridiculed for being different (though at least he was usually proven right). TOS was a step in the right direction on these fronts, but it was far from perfect, or even enlightened.
Kirk did indeed screw his crew. Remember that chick who he nailed at the Christmas party that he flashbacked to.

I love how the thread title just ends up stating the obvious rather than making some sort of scathing remark. Even if it was Uhura and not the Orion (which it is), it wouldn't even be two people belonging to the same crew since Uhura is clearly wearing Academy clothes. Kirk isn't a member of the Enterprise when he gets on board either.
This is true, he's not screwing his crew, he's shagging someone further up the chain than him.
