Kirk does NOT screw his crew

As I said, then it's about time to stop it. :p
Different species will always instinctively prey upon each other. It's just the way it is. Do you want every episode of Star Trek to look like this?

I don't get what you're trying to tell me. Or it's the other way around.
You said, "In my opinion it's about time to abandon this stupid onesided portrayal of a whole species." Why can't Romulans always be enemies of humans in the same way that foxes are enemies of sheep?

Because that makes for lame and unimaginative storytelling. I doesn't seem very realistic either. You know, Germans aren't Nazis anymore, for example. It would be stupid and sad to see them portrayed as Nazis all the time.

even if it was uhura.... maybe they hooked up before being assigned to the Enterprise, then there's that awkward "ohhh hey, never thought I'd see you again" phase

^ And it went really bad. Afterwards she told him she'd knee him in the groin if he ever tried to touch her again. That's why he's so very hesitant to kiss her in "Plato's Stepchildren."

Germans are of the human race. Earlier you were talking about species. There are greater differences when comparing different species.

Actually, one thing we do know from ENT is this:

The Orion Slave Girls are not, in fact, slaves. They are the masters. They use their pheromones to essentially enslave the males.

So maybe *that* is what an Orion girl is doing on the Enterprise...
She's a Spy!!!

Except in Star Trek they're a metaphor for Earth nation-states. Each sentient species is considered as equal as any human in the universe of Star Trek. And even if that weren't the case, not all foxes are the same. Fox breeds are different enough from each other that generalizations about all foxes are just as problematic as stereotypes about species in Star Trek. Even the later Treks were pretty bad when it came to this kind of prejudice, especially when it came to the Ferengi and Klingons. I hope that's tweaked in future Trek.

Lucky girl... @ Chris Pine.

My boyfriend who doesn't even like science fiction said he'd see the movie with me just because "Kirk is hot". Hopefully, even though shallow, it brings in a lot of moviegoers.
First of all I doubt these are Enterpise Quarters. This may be an Academy Room where Uhura comes in on Kirk and her roommate and they hear her walking in and Kirk quickly hides under the bed and Uhura later catches him and that's the reason he's on Probation and has to be snuck onto the enterprise by McCoy....

It's only speculation.

I think he's trying to say that the Manger Scene from The Bible actually takes place in Narnia.

Can we be friends?

How come there's no discussion about Kirk and Lt. M'Ress? Maybe Kirk is a closet furry.

I hope that J.J. Abrams includes Lt. M'Ress and Lt. Arex in the new Star Trek movie. Isn't the animated series considered part of the Star Trek canon?

Not really, no.
No... not at all.
It just so happens that some of the stuff in TAS has been confirmed in other Trek live-action-series. Th live action is the canon not the events in TAS.

One more thing too and this isn't to you Ro but to everyone who's suggesting it (Doing a quick-reply here...)

THAT IS NOT FLIPPIN' UHURA AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE GREEN SKIN! You gotta stop assuming that all Orions are green. I seriously doubt that they're a hiding a gorgeous woman like Rachel Nichols behind a layer of green paint. Yeah... I get it... they did it on ENT. Ain't doing it here...

Didn't you dopes notice that the article that was referenced to by the OP was a flippin' mess all the way around? It was just making crap up. I especially like the picture of Wynona Rider and Ben Cross referred to as a cameo by Leonard Nimoy.

I adjusted the brightness and contrast a bit in PhotoShop and placed it next to a photo of Rachel Nichols. The girl's leg looks green when compared to Kirk's leg.

I'm late but I still want to apologize to Uhura for thinking that was her. Kirk hitting an Orion makes more sense. That still leaves the question of who Uhura is stripping down for? Scotty? They had a moment in ST 5 which left me wondering if they had a "past" together.

There were those spy shots of someone's stand-in, and she was painted green. There's a decent chance it was Nichols' stand-in and that she's painted green in the film. I doubt green paint would diminish her looks one bit.

You seem awfully sure of yourself.

Why WOULDN'T they make Orions green?

I actually didn't read the article at all.

I'm just going by what my eye tells me, and my eyes see a green woman.

No, it's not Uhura. Yes, most of the people posting in this thread know that already. Maybe she's green and maybe that's just the lighting; we'll see. Yes, the article is pretty much a disaster, so far as accuracy is concerned; whoever wrote it and the photo captions knew nothing, did no homework and winged it -- just made shit up. One other thread here referred to the article as a "travesty", I believe. Seems to be about par for the course, where the Daily Mail is concerned.

None of that makes the "didn't you dopes notice" crack okay.
