Biggest issue will be the lack of explanation for one character I thinkFor whatever reasons, I never got around to Agatha All Along, so I hope that won't impact my following VQ too much. For me, a large part of the appeal here is seeing two of my favorite actors, Bettany and Spader, together in scenes as essentially themselves.
They said this is the conclusion of the Wandavision/Agatha All Along trilogy. I'm expecting as such, and don't see Nostalgia bait being a part of that. The show has also been reviewed well so far so I'm hopeful. I get the trepidation from Picard Season 3, but one thing going for it for me is this isn't a continuing show where they kicked half the cast out, so that's a plus.Fingers crossed this won’t be nostalgia driven navel gazing, like another Matalas driven show.
Here is the bare minimum that you need to know version...For whatever reasons, I never got around to Agatha All Along, so I hope that won't impact my following VQ too much. It's the hope that kills you!maaaaybe Wanda.
Seems like hair splitting.
The inclusion of
so how this is folded in to Vision's backstory remains to be seen.Jim Hammond is what set my radar off. He was originally an Easter egg in Captain America The First Avenger. A character, who in the MCU, has no connection to Vision outside of being a synthetic Being. Of course we've no idea if J.I.M. Is the same synthezoid we saw in CA:TFA
Though Bettany was on The One Show this evening and he namechecked Lizzie several times...
The character is tied to Vision in the comics. It's nostalgia for fans of a certain age. (Raises hand)I still don't see the link between that character and nostalgia bait. Probably 90% of mcu fans have no idea who that is and won't recognize them when they see them. Even most comics fans are unlikely to be all that nostalgic for them. Some notable historical status aside, we're talking Eternals levels of obscurity here. You don't include that for nostalgia bait. You either just to want to use the character or else it's just an easter egg.
If you want to get a better feel for what Terry Matalas is capable of, I would recommend checking out 12 Monkeys. Technically it is an adaptation of the movie, but it goes so far off from what the movie did that it's basically an original creation.Nostalgia for what?
I hated Picard season 3, too, but this situation is completely different. There is no 30 year old cast to reunite, no decades of popular lore to reference and I highly doubt Matalas had an old fanfic about Vision having conversations with Ultron inside his head laying around in a desk. He's not even getting a free hand for creating new characters because he's working the MCU machine mostly using already established characters and anyone new who shows up will still have to be approved by Feige so that they don't screw up future plans.
The only thing worth worrying about here is the basic execution of the storytelling, but even then 1 bad season doesn't prove he's incompetent and he's still not making the show by himself anyway.
Strange probably made a report which he saw.wait, how does Vision know how Wanda supposedly died?
