Rember in the TNG Pilot, Picard said to Graper Zorn RE: The Ferengi - "Let's hope they find you as tasty as their last customers..."
We're talking 200 years before that, though. No clue who these big-eared, money-obsessed space pirates are, but the Menk know. And the Menk barely knew about anything.

And as I mentioned, they still didn't attempt to identify themselves with their name. Trelane was cut off from identifying himself, which was just stupid on Pike's part. You always want to know what you can about your adversary. At the very least, their name or what they call themselves.
I might have gotten the exact wording slightly off, but the intent was definitely annoyance and 'not this again'.
Ok this time I am really disappointed, probably the worst SNW episode so far. Couldn't get into it at all, did they really have to bring up Q to ruin the series. Especially when they have just 10 epsispdes per seasons, this was a waste of opportunities. There are so many other more interesting Star Trek topics... The good thing, we learned more about Pike's personality.

Q is a Trek staple, and like Klingons is expected to show up at some point. See also Organians.

Seriously, never underestimate Q's popularity. There's a reason my Q novels are still my bestselling Trek books, even decades later.
(The Khan books get the most attention, but, royalties-wise, the Q books still surpass them.)

Which according to an interview with Rhys Darby, was not how it was filmed. He did say his name then Pike told him he didn't care, but in post they decided to have Pike cut him off.
