also lmao, the Enterprise image they used was taken from a Star Trek Online promotional image. It's not even a unique render, nor a render of the official show model.

I was staring at it wondering why it looked so familiar

...I wonder how and why the Gorn will show up again...

I noticed an Andorian (Hemmer?), a "zombified-woman in a starship window", possible Gorn-related hints by Laan in the the trailer.

All that below could be from the Horror centric episode.

Kirks "knife and noo scream" (16 seconds into the trailer)
Andorian (1 minute and 3 seconds)
Laan "we need to get off this ship" (1 minute and 4 seconds)
zombified women in a starship window (1 minute 27 seconds)

The only way I would have any interest in seeing Pike's injury revisited on Strange New Worlds would be if they jumped ahead to the events of The Menagerie and told that story from the perspective of Pike's former crew, all playing their own parts in Spock's plan to return Pike to Talos. Uhura's part is already a lock. Kirk said he had no idea about what happened to Pike despite it being all over the subspace chatter.
I think it would be interesting to see the actual rescue situation played out on screen. In TOS S1 The Menagerie, we hear what happened and see the result on Christopher Pike; but showing Pike's actions in the rescue would be something new and a 'payoff' in showing just what he actually does when the time comes.

You also can't assume everyone watching this series knows or has seen just what happens between Pike and Spock in TOS S1 The Menagerie either.

Didn't they show him ordering the cadets out of the area in DSC? He orders them out, I think gets another cadet to their feet, then you see the shot of him up against the glass before cutting to seeing himself in the wheelchair.

Again, you can't assume everyone has seen stuff form ST: D either.

(Shocking I know that there may be some for whom SNW is their first/only Star Trek series; and even then we saw snippets of a future event; not the actual event itself. Pike has been coming to terms with this event for whoever many actual years SNW covers in Universe. Seeing him carry out the rescue on screen is the payoff/conclusion to that series character Arc.

Whether or not they'll actually do it, or Akiva and Co. will assume EVERYONE will go watch ST: D S2 or TOS S1 The Menagerie and/or 'have already seen it' remains to be seen.)

I like this shot of the rim of the Enterprise saucer, giving us a pretty decent idea of how big the primary hull is compared to a six-foot crewmember in an EV suit. It's comparable to the characters stepping out onto the Refit saucer at the end of TMP.

All in all Iike the trailer for season 4, it feels like the Star Trek we love and it makes me curious and fascinated enough to look forward to it. I understand that many fans are frustrated about recent Star Trek shows and movies but hey...I believe that great Star Trek stuff can even happen in 2026, so I am just optimistic.

Wesley and Peck will go on playing Kirk and Spock, representing them in different venues, for as long as they like.

They're the embodiments of the characters for this generation.

It does seem unlikely that this will include a full-blown TV series or film, and that disappoints me.

In a recent interview, Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Meyers say they had talks with Russell T Davies about doing an SNW/Doctor Who crossover, and the DW easter eggs in S3 such as the TARDIS being seen on that scavenger or Pelia talking about her adventures with a time travelling doctor were meant to be references to that.

Who?
