For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

Shitfuckdamn.

I knew the Alex/Marcus reunion was going to be bad but I didn't expect it would be that bad.

All Alex wanted to do was to find Lily and get medical supplies for Dmitri. Instead, he witnessed a senseless slaughtering...and then accidentally shot his own friend in a kneejerk reaction due to his frayed nerves.

But damn, that look of fury Alex directed at the camera, intended for Dev, is righteous as fuck.

Let's get real here: The M6 Marine mission is messy as hell. Multiple cases of trigger-happy shooting, ask questions maybe later. Incorrect map intel. Poor comms. And why the hell is Jarrett on the mission?

In a real world situation, she would've been grounded for psych eval after the experience she just endured. But I guess I should've known these aren't our Marines considering their lackadaisical haircuts. Yeah, yeah, I know almost all of this is for the sake of the drama and you can't sideline a third-generation character in the penultimate episode of the season, but I'm still hoping these fundamental flaws are deliberate signs of a bad system.

Not sorry to see Palmer die the way he did but it's unfortunate he revealed the truth to Lily about Miles...and despite her vocal objections, I think deep down she believes him. On the plus side, Stanislaus redeemed himself in the end.

The interludes to Titan were sparse, but after some drawbacks, Kelly may have discovered life on another world...although I was petrified that her distraction would cause Elena (?) to fall during her lowering down to safety.

Hard to believe there's only one episode left in the season when there feels like so much ground left to cover. I'm not sure how this going to conclude in a satisfying manner, but perhaps a combination of Dev finally stepping in, Lenya revealing the truth of the situation and actually having SDM's back, and Alex's and Lily's reporting of what they saw may quickly turn the tide. But I'm not sure if I'll buy in a single episode.

Marines didn't fuck around anymore with rubber bullets, i was actually shocked they went in hot ( shouldn't have been but still).

As i said previously - not being familiar with the terrain ( and apparently getting bad intel) will work in the Martians' favor but they were still getting defeated at every turn by the Marines, which is honestly not surprising given that Marines do this professionally and the Martians have only a few people who even know how to handle a weapon ( and Alex isn't one of them).

Jarrett out for blood was expected but being "granted" her wish seemed to have sobered her up and centered her again and now she's getting a new experience trying to save Haskell and probably receiving a new perspective of the fight. I still think she might switch sides or at least sit this one out.

The last team that was captured with the Governor - something smelled fishy about it, could this have been a ruse somehow and they wanted to be captured? Polivanov seems to be flip flopping around whenever it suits him so i don't really know where he stands but the Martians have to know they'll have a hard time beating the Marines in a straight up fight so maybe some additional unconventional tactics are what they need.

Palmer going out this suddenly was surprising but blue on blue happens when there's no communication. This however may have been the incident that might turn Dev over to the Martians' side and cause once he learns the truth what the Marines did to his people. I don't know if the camera caught it too by accident, at least the screen seemed broken but then again Chekov's gun..

So yeah - Alex vs. Dev will be one to watch next week, i'm really looking forward to it.

And there's still Titan - i'm pretty sure they'll find something but is it enough to calm everybody down, especially if nobody is there in MOCC to listen?

They never showed the camera being turned off, my guess is it recorded both incidences of the M6’s elite space marines killing people after they said things like, “We won’t shoot,” and “We’re on your side.”

Polivinov is definitely a Trojan horse, they wanted to be captured.

Yup, I figured between Alex's witness testimony and the camera at least capturing the audio, the Martians will have strong evidence of the M6's aggressive incompetence to fight against the inevitable attempt to pin the MPK's deaths on the SDM.

And yeah, I figured Polivinov was playing a role, although I initially figured he was playing it on his own and Gerardo wasn't in on it. I could see it going either way now.

I think AJ's defection has been heavily telegraphed but it will be a relief to see it play out. What I am curious about is how Marcus will handle the situation once he's stabilized. Will he turn on Alex as his continued general dislike for Mars or will he recognize his shooting was an accident and realize the whole situation is wildly out of control with bad intel? I'm also really looking forward to the moment when Alex and AJ realize who each other are in relation to their grandfathers.

Palmer: "We're under the Geneva Convention here"

O' really? The person who led a team to blow-up and destroy the food supply of a civilian population in an attempt to starve them?

  • Additional Protocols I & II (Arts. 54 & 14): Explicitly prohibit starvation as a tactic and the destruction of food, crops, livestock, and water installations.
  • Rome Statute (Art. 8): Defines intentional starvation and impeding relief as a war crime.

But the Rome Statute was only added to the Geneva Convention in 1998, three decades after our POD, and Additional Protocols I and II in 1977. Again, after our POD.

Not in my experience. Unless there is something physically wrong with you, or you show an actual outward mental breakdown you will stay in the fight. That is the reason for all the mental and physical torture, it is meant to tear you down in Recruit Training, and weed out non-conformity. If you can pass that, then seeing a fellow marine killed in action won't stop you from performing when needed. Your chain of command will hope it will steel your resolve to kill the enemy when the time comes, by focusing your anger on them.

Plus how big is the Earth frigate, can they afford to loose AJ from the assault team. It's not like we can just ship in a replacement platoon.

What has the frigate been doing before now? Just patrolling the traffic in the Sol-Luna Corridor?

Good summary mirroring most of my thoughts.

Kelly sees the protomolecule.
 as a fan of both series, exactly my thoughts.
I wonder if her fellow researcher isn't just injured, but also infected? I think I heard her say "it's burning".

Unfortunately it took her killing a grandma to go down that path...

Alex walking with a gun, knew this was gonna end up bad. Unsure if Marcus will make it. If he does they will indeed have an interesting conversation...

Yes, hopefully Alex and AJ will figure it out soon.

Which it did, until AJ realized she'd shot somebody's grandma through the neck and started to wonder if these monster Marsie terrorists weren't all they were cracked up to be.
They are definitely laying the groundwork with these moments and now with her physically in the same space as Alex.

What an insane way to end the episode! Damnit. This is going to painful seven-day wait.

Thankfully I only was able to watch it today, so 1 day less of a wait.

Speaking of grandmas and Jarrett... How's that meeting with Alex go?

"Oh hey Ed Baldwin's grandson. My Dad banged your grandma"

That plot point was taken to the grave, which is why the Kelly/Walt plot point might also go away without resolution (so the writers don't have to deal with it).
