For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

I'm not sure how China is the 'technological power' out of this group considering Nazi Germany and the US were clearly far more technologically advanced in WW2 and R&D requires economic power, plus Mao doesn't seem the type to create a particularly effective espionage machine for stealing technology, either. He shut down the universities to send students to work on the farms at one point, so knowledge and advancement wasn't exactly his priority.
My assumption is China has control of Japan and thus their innovation and tech.
Plus I was also looking more to current China than to Maoist China. A little artistic license if you will.

But the one aspect I'm most fascinated in in my timeline is the US aerospace industry.
During WW2 the US aerospace turned out some incredibly complex and innovative aircraft (notably the B-29). But after the end of WW2 US aerospace engineers and designers were able to see what Nazi Germany was working on and very few aersospace engineers were working on these levels (The one exception might have been Jack Northrop who's flying wings seemed designed without the aid of Nazi tech).
But Nazi research, tech and scientists acquired after the war literally upended the US aerospace industry. Swept wing aircraft and turbojet development are but two of the major things that US engineers learned from the Nazi research. Of course the space industry is completely different with most of the US ICBMs all the way through the Space Shuttle being influenced if not outrightly designed by former Nazi Scientists.
So without their input I wonder if the US aerospace industry would have developed as quickly?
Id imagine that through espionage many of these innovations would have been revealed, but it would have taken more time. Further, not to discredit the US own aerospace engineers, I imagine that many of these ideas would have come about naturally.
One more wrinkle to consider: THe main reason Germany pushed so hard for Jet Tech was because they were losing the war and needed quick measures to turn it around. After 1944 the German aerospace industry as a whole was engaged in research and development of jets and rockets. The ME262, while under development since at least 1942, was given priority by 1944 as Germany saw it is a way to turn the the tide agains the bombers and superior fighters like the late model Spirtfires and P-51s.

Interesting time jump.

cheeky (Kelly) Baldwin move with the data stick and the initial flight path/calculations... (hooray)

Meanwhile Alex Baldwin was expecting some one on one time with Lily and instead got a surprise party with a terrible ending. Didn't catch who died - was it their mutual lady friend?

I was quicker than Polivanov to figure out his wife was eye-lashing/blinking a message to him while doing the propaganda speech. the theory about his origin/relationship to another character would be interesting indeed...

---
in no particular order and urgent food issue aside these are just some of the main plot points that need a follow up or solution...
  • the upcoming invasion of the Space Marines with Alex best friend and Stevens (hopefully a good one) - last episode they were called in, now it's a time jump of 6 months - they are on the way.
  • Kelly Baldwin's search for alien life discovery
  • Kelly Baldwins "betrayal" of the mission commander and Crew
  • Miles past reveal and potential Miles vs Sheriff Palmer face off
  • Irina surely is plotting, pardon cooking something up to...
  • Boyd good cop lady vs dirty cop(s) friend(s)
  • Ruthless Dev an his next plans
  • the robots are still on Mars - bet we haven't seen the last of it/them
  • the pending change of power in the soviet union.

Yes, Yael. That's why they were especially torn about what happened.

I feel like Kelly Baldwin will need to be punished for what she did and I suspect that might happen next season but I do wonder what that would mean. That or they will hide the truth which only means it will eventually be exposed.

Nah if she finds life she's a goddamn hero!

That's true but and they would for sure take in account public sentiment. But could they ever trust her in a position of authority after what she did? They could ask her to quietly step down from her job or put in some kind of position where they can take advantage of her celebrity but a position without any power or influence.

God! Damn! HERO!!

After Dev goes to prison for terrorism, the company is all Kelly's and Aleida's.
Knowing Dev, I wouldn't be surprised if:

A) He gets out of being held responsible by either making a deal the Sons and Daughters of Mars to fight against the M6 Marines or escapes arrest by going into hiding on Mars or escaping off world);

B) He has written some provision in his company that prevents Aleida from taking over due to some perceived slight because she joined forces with the Sons and Daughters of Mars (which would come into play if he goes on the lam, too).

I think Dev is going to prison for what he did to the dome. Aleida takes over the business completely. MIles becomes the new mayor of Mars.

No, they're the American part of the M6.

oh

its because none of the characters work at nasa anymore and or never worked at nasa lol plus there was the after math of bombing of the nasa building along with whats her name was working for the ussr after the bombing at the nasa building

i thought the for all man kind verison of the us of a goverment had just enough of the nasa shenanigans that the us of a government shut them down

yeah i think the girl who got killed was alexs and lillys russian best friend

You know it just occurred to me that they might keep what she did quiet so the Walt guy actually might be seen as the main hero to the public. He is the team leader after all and nobody for the most part is going to know what was going up their in space.

I'm calling this now: a Republican won 2012 and they'll be like a third term of Bragg. Maybe it's Mitt Romney. Then Bernie Sanders runs in 2016 and wins.

I don't know. I feel like they sort set of Kennedy Jr to be the next President. Probably why they didn't have him die in this world like he did in real life.

Called it last week.

So if Episode 6 was Late July 2012, then we should now be in January 2013, then Bragg is less than a month away from leaving office. Given the Election would have been held smack bang in the middle of the Siege, either the M6 reaction to it has become bipartisan or the POTUS Elect is a Republican.

Fair enough, but I'm going the step further with President Sanders. ;)

Even though I think Jayson has a good point about John F. Kennedy Jr.

Two birds with one stone - a Kennedy/Sanders ticket. But if Kennedy is elected in the unseen 2012 election, it means his entire two terms are likely going to be off stage.
