For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

Separate post for four separate thoughts:

1. The way the camera lingered on Margo in her cell and given that Aleida told Margo she should be the one going up there... something tells me Margo's part of the story isn't done yet. I don't know how it's not done yet, but it's not done yet. Her expertise will be required for something.

4. I meant to mention this two weeks ago, but didn't get around to it, and didn't see an opening later, so I'm making one: First, I love the opening sequences every season of Margo getting ready for her day. The one from Season 2 was my favorite. For Season 5, it was interesting to see the sequence cut back-and-forth between Margo and Aleida showing the tradition being handed off to the next generation.
Margo has always been my favorite character so I'm obviously biased here, but I would for you to be right about her being needed one last time for her intellect. Even so, I'm skeptical if that'll actually happen unless there's some kind cataclysmic disaster the requires all hands on deck no matter from where.

I've also always loved those season opening sequences and I especially loved how Margo passed the torch to Aleida.

This season was leaving me a little cold until this episode. Now I'm bawling and it's definitely picking up steam.

Loved how his old buddy Gordo showed up to walk him into the Light.

ED!

Without necessarily having to talk about Margo in particular, given the way the tension has already been in Episodes 1, 2, and 3 of the season, I can only imagine what the stakes are going to be by the time of Episodes 8, 9, and 10. So, there just might be a disaster of that scale. Not for certain, obviously, but I wouldn't be surprised.

One thing I am sure about is that Season 6 will fully be For All Mankind: The Next Generation. Not in actual title, but with where the series is. As it's already effectively there even now.

Well that was a quick way to break my heart.

Seeing Gordo, Karen and Shane was really quite hard. And to end with Gemini in orbit like that was powerful stuff.

That just showed me how much I miss the old season 1-3 dynamic, but it looks like a great adventure awaits us over the coming season.

An interesting thought: Russia reaching the Moon first may be a big noticeable historical change, but apparently it wasn’t THE first divergence point — since four years earlier, Ed Baldwin and Gordo Stevens flew Gemini 7, whereas in our history it was Frank Borman and Jim Lovell.

I may be in the minority but for me it was a weak episode. Ed didn't get the exit he deserved, no blaze of glory and the flashbacks to Korea felt like they dragged the pace. I was half-expecting there to be some sort of appearance by Lee, but apparently he was born im 58 and is a good 30 years younger than Ed.
I guess I was supposed to feel emotional but I didn't. I think I feel the same way you did, but I also found this episode really boring. After the action of last week, this felt like a bit of a let down. It was nice to see Gordo and Karen again but I didn't really feel anything. It was just one more episode to watch Ed die when it felt like last week he got the perfect ending.

Yeah, theyve repeatedly told us the point of divergence is Sergei Korolev surviving past January 1966, so with some fudging to stop his intestinal bleed worsening you could push the divergence back slightly for Baldwin/Stevens to become the back-up crew.

It gets a little fuzzy if you want to account for the existence of fictional/composite characters in your alternate history story when looking for the divergence. I mean, there's never been any such person as Gordon Stevens and Ed Baldwin, so is the actual point of separation in the 1920s or whenever when their parents would've met?

Episode 3 was a powerful episode but why do I feel like this might be to the show what "Goodbye Michael" was to 'The Office."

I don't think so. While he still had stuff to do and was an important character i feel like others like Aleida, Kelly, Dev and Miles have suffciently taken over and been developed so the story doesn't need to concentrate on the OG cast around Ed, Danielle or Margo. These newer characters now carry the show and i was honestly just waiting for the OG's to be written out and it has happened now. Ii think this was also it for Margo, since Aleida is leaving Earth and she was the only story tether for her, it sure felt like an exit they way she walked out of frame but it was overshadowed by Ed's departure.

Since the show will be ending with season 6 it shouldn't lose viewers because some fan favorite characters have gone, the writers run out of ideas or the studio keeps it around to squeeze every last cent of profit from it making it overstay its welcome. The show has the finish line now in sight and can plan/write accordingly even if they might have hoped to finish out with seven seasons as originally planned.

I kind of had the opposite sense (though I could be wrong, and will be happy to be) — that given Margo’s age, there’s an excellent chance that this is it, they’re never going to see each other again, and they both know it.

I could see Aleida arranging for Margo to be press-ganged into working with NASA and the M6 to reach Titan before the ISN does.

Something I've been thinking about since last season is perhaps Margo will perform some sort of self-sacrifice to earn back her respect within the scientific community. I'm not sure how that would work, even if she was somehow released from prison in whatever capacity.

Her number one goal has always been exploration for all mankind (pun not intended, honest) and I want more than just Aleida to realize that and forgive her for her "betrayal." I certainly don't expect America to see her in that light but I do want her peers to understand.

Except I believe Aleida left NASA for the private sector and is CEO of Helios. You can see the Helios logo on the back of the van window, that picked her up to take her to the transport. I don't know how much pull Helios has with NASA.
