Recently at a library sale, I came across a hefty anthology called Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Collection - 11 Doctors, 11 Stories. Each story featured one of the Doctor's incarnations up to that point (not including the War Doctor, however) and each was written by a different author. The writers include:
Eoin Colfer
Michael Scott
Marcus Sedgwick
Philip Reeve
Patrick Ness
Richelle Mead
Malorie Blackman
Alex Scarrow
Charlie Higson
Derek Landy
Neil Gaiman
I'm currently on the story featuring the Fourth Doctor and I've greatly enjoyed each one so far (I especially liked the twist at the end of the First Doctor's story). Has anyone else come across this collection and what are your thoughts? My only complaint is that they couldn't have included the Twelfth Doctor, but even though it was known that Capaldi was next in line, we had yet to see just what his personality would be.
And by the same token, a story featuring the War Doctor during that time would've been quite interesting as well. All in all though, it's a nice tribute to the 50th and I'm eagerly looking forward to the remaining tales.
Comments welcome!
