We don't need to guess about that because we've seen cases where fans have become showrunners. Various examples in Doctor Who and Star Trek come to mind.

Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't. But it's not guaranteed to be good or bad.
The best example of it working for Star Trek is probably Lower Decks.

This one was pretty good!

Good character work, cool new enemy, sensible training mission.
Sad to see Starfleet just cave in to a criminal’s demands but it’s coherent with what was established in Discovery: it’s not the 24th century anymore!

Great use of betazoid abilities and of our cadets all along.

Only thing I really didn’t like is that the derelict ship sets looked pretty much like the usual sets covered up with black plastic bags. Budget, I guess.

Nine.

I have to admit that redressing bridge sets hardly ever phases me. I guess I've just gotten used to Starship bridges in Star Trek looking a certain way and if they reuse the same set, that's just holding to the pattern. I have to tell you that I was initially shocked to find out that the battle bridge on TNG was just a redress of the main bridge.

Only managed to watch the first few minutes so far before being off to work, but I found the Caleb/Tarima sequence really beautiful and very well done. The Olivia Dean song is gorgeous and fits perfectly. The way it’s filmed and cut is nothing groundbreaking, but still I appreciate how well they capture the intimacy and intensity of their young love.
And it sets up what happens later. Unnecessary? Ha.

But I thought these writers didn’t know Star Trek? /s

this chnl. is saying J19 Alpha is the pre cursor to Section 31.
This flimsy “theory” did not have to be a ten+ minute, low-effort, AI-narrated YouTube slideshow that ends mid-sentence. I turned the embedded video into a clickable URL. In the future, please don’t post content like this. Just participate in the conversation like a regular poster, arguing your own thoughts, without posting borderline spam to the board. Thank you.

Her name is Pickford. She’s getting eated. I’ve read my Lovecraft.
I’m not versed on Lovecraft at all, but doing a bit of googling, “Pickman” pops up as a character name. I assume that’s who you’re referring to?

Yeah, the story is "Pickman's Model." Made into a forgettable Night Gallery episode.

You can make successful movies and TV based on Lovecraft, but you can't do Lovecraft in movies or TV.

DUNWICH HORROR tried, at least with fast-edited subliminal moments.

COLOR OUT OF SPACE and FROM BEYOND have their moments, for better or for worse.

Peter David did a joke where a security chief in NEW FRONTIER died at the hands of a comic book Thor hologram because she did the Avengers without the safeties.

I found that hilariously dark.
And that's why when on the holodeck you should always follow the rules of safety sex. :rommie:
