Since we're on the sex scene, did anyone else notice all those non-matching cuts? They would go directly from shots where Caleb was in underwear to shots where he was wearing pants, and then back again. It's so rare for continuity errors that glaring to end up in anything. I don't know how it wasn't caught.
My read on that was that we were not seeing one specific evening, but multiple dates over a period of time. An inspired choice, because falling in love often makes time disappear, days melting into nights melting into weeks etc.

Enough talk about boobs. I’m certainly no prude and am 100% sex positive, but the way it gets all reduced to an actresses’ nipples is making even me uncomfortable. The performers show a little skin and y‘all turn into 14-year olds obsessing over the “camera angles” on “dangling petite sideboobs”. I trust you‘ve all seen breasts before and have now all said your piece. Let‘s do less objectification and focus on other aspects of the episode, alright? Thank you. And no, this is not to invite even more discussion about it.

Okay, I'll drop it. I'm really not interested in the lewds myself, only how the reaction seems to have shown the change of the times and how much more chaste culture seems to be getting from even 20 years ago (ENT was an astoundingly horny show).

Part of it is people seem to be infantilizing the actors on the show, calling them "children" and implying seeing Steiner edges on child pornography. I don't think she's publicly disclosed her age, but I'm sure she's over 18, and I'm also pretty sure her character is supposed to be of legal age as well.

The modern trend of treating young adults as if they are children, rather than adults, really needs to die.

My granddaughter noticed immediately. "Hey, wait a minute..."

On a tangent, when Tarima leaves, the announcement says there are ten minutes until the Briefing and Caleb is STILL late, whereas Tarima gets back go her new quarters and changes into her uniform and arrives before Caleb.

Were they traveling pants?

I didn't get the sense that it was a single linear scene (at least not until we got into the Betazoid mind speech sequence and the moments immediately before and after it). At least some parts of it seemed more like a montage of various times when the couple got together.

He was also late to the laser tag briefing in episode 3. Tsk, tsk.

Ah, Star Trek talking about eating assholes. The villian is a cartoonish, crass, one dimensional boob and the ship that got lured away from the space station, thus leaving it vulnerable, got disabled with one shot..

There was a good episode in there somewhere, but that stuff kind of ruined it for me.

4.

I think I can safely say this is my least favorite Trek show of all-time. By quite a big margin.

And IDK if "least favorite" even applies. Not sure I like it at all. Close to giving up on it, despite being a huge fan of Hunter and Giamati.

Curiously you gave 1.01 a 6, said 1.02 was better than 1.01 (so 7), 1.03 got a 4, but you said 1.04 was the best episode of the season (thus 8 if 1.02 is 7), and then gave 1.05 an 8/10.

Out of 6 episodes, youve scored 4 at 6/10 or higher.

It really doesn't sound like you dislike it at all.
