Can't find it now, but in an interview I saw on YT today, Yashere and Notaro talked about Thok and Reno being a couple in SFA. Initially I though they were tongue in cheek, but no - it's true, and we get to see them at home in domestic bliss.....
Yeah, I doubt it will be Wesley for that reason. We've seen him on three different shows in the modern era. I expect they're talking about someone not seen since BermaTrek.I would assume so as well, but the Travelers are arguably more enigmatic than the Q. Honestly, it wouldn't shock me for Wesley of all people to go "Ok, now we're talking guys" and pop in. I sort of hope they don't go that route, unless the Travelers come back for a good reason. Considering they can travel time so easily, it seems possible to me that his comment could have been a sort of "push in the right direction" so to speak. Like a Q lesson. He did sort of give that Q feeling too in Picard.
I do hope it's someone else, that we genuinely haven't seen in a long time.
That’s true, and I didn’t want to imply Martin-Green appearing on the show was a certainty, but there was also this TrekMovie article from a few weeks ago, which might make you see it as at least a little more likely …I think more likely is that, by all accounts SMG is a humdinger of a human and when offered the chance to visit the set and meet the new cast, she jumped at it because she is just.... a really nice person.

I see the Burn as more of an attempt to “revert” the galaxy ala Fallout and the destruction of Shady Sands. Before the Burn, TNG and DS9 had made it seem that the Milky Way or at least Alpha Quadrant had become too known and civilized. The Burn returns it to the Wild West of the TOS era.

I agree that was the desire to do The Burn. To basically reset the Star Trek universe and move away from Roddenberry's utopia. KInd of funny though how you would think such a story would go is you would focus on characters who are more outlaws and cowboys. Academy and Discovery before it seems to be taking in another direction. How the hippies tamed the west.![]()
I am here for Hippie Star Trek. I feel like it could be just as valid as a take on the Utopia concept as was envisioned in the 1980s. I do admit that I find the "reconstruction of the Federation" to be really cool and very Archer.
If this is true it could turn out excellent, Thok's already got the potential to be one of the more entertaining characters in the series and this kind of thing could give her a sympathetic/softer edge which just makes the drill sargeant stuff land even better. Can't find it now, but in an interview I saw on YT today, Yashere and Notaro talked about Thok and Reno being a couple in SFA. I feel like if it's going to work they got to make the war college aspect of the show work to contrast it. If Starfleet Academy is going to be 1960's Berkeley then the War College has to be something like West Point or The Citadel.

I found Lura Thok's drill Sergent act in her introduction more then a little distasteful, and since then I felt like she's been pretty two dimensional with how she continually feels the need to repeat Jem'Hadar/Klingon taglines.

i really hope it does. I'm liking it so far. And the haters have been so noisy about it, we really need a win.i hope starfleet academy gets renewed
This. Romance is the most boring element of the human adventure in media, Star Trek especially.I largely don't care about their home lives. With only ten episodes I wish they'd focus on working on plots that are interesting, this stuff ends up feeling like a crutch.
Felt the same way about Miles and Keiko, I just didn't care. Not what I generally watch Star Trek for.
