For such a great distance, for the universe it is still only considered in our local group of galaxies.
I plotted the probable trajectory in the episode (in yellow), based on our current understanding of the universe.

I'm guessing the two galaxies travelled through are satellite galaxies of Andromeda (And. II & And. III).
In relation to what? All these section in our universe are held togeather by gravity I do believe. If the Universe is constantly expanding then doesn't that mean the center of the Galaxy would also constantly be in a different place?
National Geographic. It is a part of my screen background image, the original is 3000 x 1952Nice galactic map. Where did youn get it?
Unlike what Discovery's finale would have you believe, subspace fields, like the type that constantly surround Federation ships, are proven to make a joke of the event horizon of black holes.McCoy: Jim, did you just forget everything we learned in school? There's a supermassive black hole in the center of the galaxy!
Spock: I attempted to warn Sybok of this, but he did not listen.
(Enterprise is crushed by the black hole gravity and everyone is killed. McCoy however escapes in an escape pod to maintain continuity with his TNG appearance)

Since subspace as Star Trek uses it is completely fictional, it can do whatever the writer decides it can do.Unlike what Discovery's finale would have you believe, subspace fields, like the type that constantly surround Federation ships, are proven to make a joke of the event horizon of black holes.
I guess someone forgot to tell Spock and Nero this in the 2009 movie.Unlike what Discovery's finale would have you believe, subspace fields, like the type that constantly surround Federation ships, are proven to make a joke of the event horizon of black holes.

But do you stoically put up with it?I don't really like stoicism.
