You know what this show needs? Houses. We should have a:
House Kirk
House Picard
House Janeway
House Lorca
All the cool people are in House Lorca.

I like the way you think.
I was trying to pick characters that have different personalities and skill sets. Kirk is for people who are adventurous and ambitious. Picard for for the more diplomatic, rational people, Janeway for the science nerds and Lorca for the people with “questionable” personalities. The “bad boys” do to speak. The ones the girls like.
Hmmm, doesn't sound very "Kirk" to me.

I'll take a stab at it.
If Reno knows who Seven of Nine is, she probably knows who Worf is.

That was only Benamite for slipstream. (Which is hilarious because Voyager only needed benamite in the first place because the ships hull couldn't handle the normal method of traveling at Slipstream velocities.)
For regular warp travel however there's still fusion, fission, aldentium, artificial singularity, and probably a couple others I don't recall off the top of my head. (Technically anything anything capable of generating sufficient power could be used to generate a warp field.)
So they didn't forget. It was in use.
