Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Yep. Whatever one thinks of PIC (any season of the series) the show transferred Picard's very life energy and essence into a near-perfect replica body.
Not life energy, it was common scifi tech of brain uploading. It's a thing.

It's also being worked on in the real world, I give it maybe 30-40 years?? Yes

And yet, I and other fans didn't lose sleep.

Trekkies will manage.
There were some fans that had religious issues with it, others thought it implausible...I remember some letter columns in magazines of the time were mixed on the subject (remember those?). Some scifi authors thought it preposterous. 3 of them reviewed it in Starlog issue 88, November 1984, including AC Crispin, Arthur C Clarke, and Howard Weinstein.

Yes, like all Trek we all made our peace with it, despite the hokum, I like STIII better than ever.

Oh, ST III is entirely bullshit.

Fun movie, but none of it makes a lick of sense.

Sort of a precursor to the Abrams films, I suppose.
